Ali officially released its public DNS—AliDNS. Previously, there were cases where Taobao users were unable to browse and place orders due to DNS failures. Therefore, AliDNS was mainly launched for Taobao users, and it also met the online needs of users such as playing games and browsing Weibo.
Alibaba's public DNS service uses Anycast technology, with unified global service IPs: 223.5.5.5, 223.6.6.6, redundancy in multiple data centers across the country, and an independent attack prevention system. Currently, the domain name alidns.com enabled by Alibaba’s public DNS platform is officially launched for public testing.
DNS is a distributed database on the Internet that maps domain names and IP addresses to each other. It allows users to access the Internet more conveniently without having to remember IP strings that can be directly read by machines.
The process of finally obtaining the IP address corresponding to the host name through the host name is called domain name resolution (or host name resolution). The DNS protocol runs on top of the UDP protocol and uses port number 53. In the RFC document, RFC 2181 has specifications for DNS, RFC 2136 describes dynamic updates of DNS, and RFC 2308 describes reverse caching of DNS queries. Newbies who don’t know how to set up can download this “one-click setup” software.
