The wireless router can set the signal strength. This is the monitoring data when the router is set to the minimum transmit power of 28mW. You can see that the signal is -52dBm/47%. At the same location, when the signal monitoring data is set to 281mW, it can be clearly seen that the signal edge is strong, which is -38dBm/65%. However, it is recommended that you do not exceed 100mW, otherwise it will be harmful to the human body. DD-WRT defaults to the smallest 28mW. As far as I am concerned, 28mW is enough.
In addition to the wireless signal scanning function mentioned above, Wirelessmon also provides functions such as signal strength detection, monitoring of wireless network transmission speed, and icon generation. Click on the graphs on the left side of the main interface. The abscissa is the time coordinate, and the ordinate allows us to select parameters, including signal strength percentage, signal strength (DBM), received rate, sent rate, total data rate, etc., so that we can understand the download speed of the network or its stability.
How to install WirelessMon
The installation process is very simple. After completion, open the main interface of Wirelessmon. You can select the corresponding wireless network card through the drop-down menu on the right side of select network card. It should be noted that since it is called WirelessMon, it can only monitor the wireless network and cannot support wired network speed testing.

How to solve the problem "The corresponding counter name for this network card cannot be found"?
This could mean that the performance counters are disabled, the user does not have permission to access them, or they are missing on the system.
Windows XP/2K: This may mean that your machine's performance counters are disabled. Please check if the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows NT CurrentVersion Perflib Disable Performance Counters" exists, if so, check if it is set to 0 and reboot.
Windows Vista: Please check if WirelessMon is running in elevated administrator mode by right-clicking on the exe and selecting Properties, clicking on the Compatibility tab and selecting the "Run this program as an administrator" option.
