VSPD application scope
1. Applicable embedded devices
Any embedded device that uses TCP/IP or UDP broadcast mode to transmit data can be virtualized as the local COM port. mouth. These devices include serial servers, wireless DTUs, or other various embedded Ethernet & TCP/IP devices.
2. Virtual serial port interconnection
1 computer runs 2 VSPM virtual serial port software in Server mode and Client mode, which can realize virtual serial port interconnection.
3. Software debugging and serial communication simulation
By using various extension DLL plug-ins, VSPM can be simulated as a serial port device to facilitate software debugging.
VSPD Instructions for Use
1. Create paired virtual ports
To create a virtual port pair, follow these steps:
1. Select the port to be paired. You can select a port from the drop-down list or specify a custom port name.
2. Click the "Add Virtual Pair" button.
Note: The number of virtual pairs is not limited. You can create as many virtual port pairs as needed.
Split the actual serial port
To split a real port into multiple virtual ports, do the following:
1. Select the actual port to be split.
2. Select the virtual port that will communicate with the split real port and click the "Add Port" button to add it to the bundle.
3. Select the virtual port you want to set as the primary virtual port, and then click "Set Primary".
4. Click the "Add Split Port" button. Now your port package will be automatically created in the Bundle tree.
Note: If you receive an error message when creating a port bundle, you can analyze the information shown in the activity log.
2. Add a few real ports
To connect multiple real ports to a virtual port, follow these steps:
1. Add the actual port to the join list. To do this, select a port and click the "Add Port" button.
2. Set the main port in the bundle. To do this, select the desired port and click Set Master.
3. Select the virtual port to join.
4. Finally, click the "Add Connection Port" button. Now your port package will be automatically created in the Bundle tree.
Note: If you receive an error message when creating a port bundle, you can analyze the information shown in the activity log
3. Merge multiple ports
To combine multiple virtual and/or real ports in a port package, follow these steps:
1. Add the port to the join list. To do this, select the port type (virtual/real), select a port and click the "Add Port" button.
2. After adding all required ports to the list, click the "Add Merge" button to create the port bundle.
Now, data received on any connection port can be copied to all other ports of the bundle.
Note: If you receive an error message when creating a port bundle, you can analyze the information shown in the activity log.
4. Redirect serial traffic
To redirect serial data from one real port to another real (or virtual) port:
1. Select the real port that will redirect traffic.
2. Select the actual or virtual port to which you want to redirect traffic.
Note: When redirecting serial traffic from one port to another, both ports are set as the primary port.
3. Click the “Add Redirect Port” button to create a port bundle for traffic redirection. Now, all data can be redirected from one port to another and vice versa.
Note: If you receive an error message when creating a port bundle, you can analyze the information shown in the activity log.
