Function introduction
1. Windows Image Processing Component can discover new private image formats (such as Raw).
2. For applications that use WIC, the new image format can be used as long as the CODEC (codec/decoder) is installed on the computer.
3. WIC includes updated codecs for JPEG, TIFF, GIF, PNG, and BMP formats that are more secure than previous versions of these formats, as well as support for a new high-performance image format called Windows Media Photo.
4. In addition, WIC also provides metadata readers and writers for common image metadata formats, which allows applications to retain metadata inside image files without creating "sidecar files".
