Mkvtoolnix includes a graphical interface program mmg.exe, which makes making mkv easier and more intuitive. It also contains the MKVextractGUI.exe program, which can extract audio, video and subtitle files from MKV files.
Mkvtoolnix is currently the most complete Matroska synthesizer. In addition to WMV and MPEG-1/2, it can synthesize almost all media into MKV.
MKVToolNix includes the following MKV-specific processing tools:
* mkvmerge: Encapsulate, merge, and mix multimedia files into MKV files;
* mkvinfo: Output MKV file components and encoding information;
* mkvextract: Extract video, audio and subtitle tracks from MKV files;
* mkvpropedit: directly modify the properties of existing MKV files without remixing the stream;
* mmg: mkvmerge GUI, and includes chapter editor and header editor
Extract mkv's own subtitles
The built-in subtitles are in English, which will be difficult to read in Chinese. Use this tool to extract the built-in subtitles and replace them with Chinese subtitles. The subtitle format supports srt, ssa, ass and other format subtitles. Generally, srt format subtitles are used. Open the software mmg.exe, select the first input, and then click Add to find the subtitle you want to extract. mkv file. In the track bar below, you will see the files contained in the mkv. The general arrangement is video, audio, and subtitle files. There are usually one or several audio files. It depends on how many audio tracks there are in the mkv source. Sometimes there are 5 audio tracks. The check in front is the file you want. If you don’t want it, don’t check it. If you don’t want the subtitle file, don’t check it.
The last item is the subtitle file. Click on the previous check mark to remove it.
The output file name at the bottom should preferably be from the same source. Remember to change the name, and then click to start merging. The required hard disk memory is at least the capacity of the movie. The conversion is completed in the time of smoking a cigarette. The converted mkv is a movie without subtitles.
Encapsulating subtitles tutorial
Open the software, click Add, find the mkv file and subtitles you want to encapsulate, you must add mkv first and then add subtitles, otherwise the suffix will become mks instead of mkv when the file name is finally output.
Video, audio, and subtitle files will appear in the track bar. Just check them all. If you don’t want the extra audio tracks, you can uncheck them. They won’t be there when encapsulating.
What to use to play mkv format?
Mkv is mostly used for packaging formats of 720p and 1080p high-definition videos. The video encoding is generally H.264 (i.e. AVC). Don't use the fool-like Baofeng. Baofeng is too rubbish. It has no HD decoder and the renderer is not good. The parsed video quality is very poor. Use perfect decoding or ultimate decoding software, which integrates all different formats of video decoders and integrates three mainstream high-definition players. Among them, kmplayer is the one that I think has the best high-definition effect. I recommend you to use it. PS: Do not install kmplayer alone, because the decoder is incomplete. It is best to install perfect decoding. The interface is clear and easy to set up.
