BarTender provides four versions, providing a variety of functions to meet the different needs of users.
A basic version (basic): Only the most important design functions of BarTender, but it cannot use external data sources and has no integration. The most commonly used label design features, including all text, graphics, barcodes, and most serialization capabilities. Only used for tag data provided via keyboard and scanner. The companion app only includes Print Station.
Professional Edition: Has all the design features and most data access rights of the Enterprise Edition, but only has limited integration. Licenses are granted per user, but not limited to printers. Supports data access to network databases as well as spreadsheets and text files. Includes two companion apps: Batch Maker and Print Station. The main difference from the basic version is that the professional version can connect to the database, but the basic version cannot.
C Automation version (Automation): Has all the most powerful label design functions of BarTender. This release provides various software integration tools. Be able to use all the features of the Professional version for obtaining external data sources. Includes all companion apps except Librarian. Only local database logging functionality is supported, but all RFID design and encoding functionality is supported.
Enterprise Automation Edition (Enterprise Automation): The most powerful edition, it has all the label design, printing, software integration and acquisition of external data source functions of the automation version, as well as advanced server functions such as central printing, security and management. The BarTender Web print server included with this release supports label printing from any browser. This version also includes the most advanced integration features, such as XML conversion, XML scripting, TCP/IP triggers, etc. You can also track printer parts inventory and printer media usage.
