Dameng database software introduction
DM is a new generation database product designed by Dameng Company based on summarizing the development and application experience of DM series products, absorbing the advantages of mainstream database products, and using JAVA-like virtual machine technology. Dameng Database is based on mature relational data models and standard interfaces. Full text search
DM provides multi-text data retrieval services, including full-text indexing and full-text retrieval. Full-text indexing provides efficient support for complex word searches in string data. Full-text indexes store information about words and their positions in specific columns. Full-text searches use this information to quickly search for records that contain a specific word or group of words. DM's full-text index supports multiple languages such as Chinese, English, and Russian.
Multiple character set support
In order to achieve storage and access to multiple languages, Dameng database uses two encoding methods to store data. One is to store according to the system default encoding provided by the operating system, and the other is to use Unicode encoding to store. Because of Unicode's consistency, it has the potential to simplify the internationalization process of software in most cases. It eliminates the need to deal with multiple code pages, and because the encoding is multibyte, the extra processing caused by double-byte character sets is not necessary. Dameng database has been able to effectively support multiple character sets including Chinese, English, Russian, Korean, Japanese, etc.
Physical data page size optional
The physical data page is the basic unit of data organization within the system. System's high-speed disk buffer, I/O, etc. are all performed in units of data pages. The DM system allows users to select any one of 4K, 8K, 16K or 32K as the page size when building the system to achieve optimal application system performance.
Agent service and job scheduling
In the DM system, the agent service is a service that runs on the server side, schedules and executes jobs, and monitors alarms. Through it, users can automatically perform some management tasks, such as regular backups, error notifications, etc., to reduce the workload. The agent service must be started before jobs and scheduling can work properly. The agent service loads all system-defined jobs and schedules their execution based on their scheduling information. When a specific moment arrives, the job is started and each step it contains is executed in sequence. The proxy service not only monitors time events, but also monitors alarm events within the server. When the server generates a specific event during operation (such as an execution failure), the proxy service will detect the occurrence of this event and trigger the corresponding alarm.
Multimedia and spatial information support
DM uses innovative hybrid database models, expanded multimedia and GIS data types and other technologies to successfully realize the integrated definition, storage and management of spatial data, multimedia data and conventional data, and has obvious advantages in spatial geographic information and multimedia information management. In addition, the DM system also provides functions such as hierarchical retrieval, limited retrieval, roaming, close-up, partial amplification, and overlay of geographical information.
