Aqua Data Studio function introduction
1. Database IDE
Aqua Data Studio is a modern IDE with a workspace environment. Docking and window frames allow tabbed documentation for query windows, which can be grouped or floated for flexibility. Easily manage and navigate all open query windows and files and choose viewing modes, orientation styles and controls to resize and show/hide panels.
2. Visual analysis
Create beautiful visualizations and dashboards of your data to explore or share with others. Identify patterns and trends to look for opportunities for further analysis. Use filters, data labels, and tabular calculations to create charts that enable you to improve business decisions, limit risk, and solve difficult problems.
3. Query and analysis tools
Advanced Query Analyzer allows you to connect to any database server and execute SQL queries. SQL formatter, syntax coloring, and autocomplete features save time writing SQL statements. Query results can be viewed in text, grid, pivot, or form view using quick filtering and export features. SQL history allows you to quickly retrieve any previous queries without losing them.
4. Table data editor
Aqua Data Studio provides a table data editor that allows you to edit the result set of an executed query on a table using a convenient graphical interface. This makes it easy to change data and add or delete rows using an editable Excel-like grid.
5. Import and export tools
The Import and Export tool lets you import and export data in different formats and from databases, tables, objects and files.
6. Visual Query Builder
The visual query builder allows you to select database tables directly from the GUI and then specify retrieval, join, sorting options, filter columns in grid formatting criteria and other query parameters. In addition to selecting tables and adding query parameters, Visual Query Builder will also generate a complete SQL statement that can be viewed, copied, and executed from the Visual Query Builder dialog window.
7. Database object navigator and visual editing
Browse database objects and edit them intuitively with just a few clicks. Create, change and delete without writing a single line of code.
8. Visual interpretation plan
Use Visual Explain Plans to display the execution plan of a query, allowing query tuning to enhance query and server performance. Aqua Data Studio for Oracle, DB2 LUW, DB2 z/OS, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostGreSQL, Redshift, Greenplum, ParAccel, Teradata Explain plans are available for Aster, Netezza, Hive, Spark, Impala and Sybase platforms.
9. Scripts and open APIs
A script development environment with a set of Open APIs that allows you to use the full functionality of the product to develop and debug scripts to automate database tasks.
10. SQL debugger
Debugger for Oracle, Sybase ASE, DB2 LUW and SQL Server allows tracing and debugging stored procedures to identify any development or production issues.
Aqua Data Studio Software Features
1. Support for multiple databases
We have added synchronization capabilities to three additional database servers: MySQL, PostgreSQL and Sybase IQ.
2. Filter enhancement
Our new shared filtering capability enables visual analytics to share filters across multiple worksheets. You can also add or remove multiple filter selections from a single action graph view.
3. Show and hide data labels
Measure every separate section of the label.
4. Usability and function enhancements
We’ve added significant usability and functionality enhancements to our docking framework, which now offers multiple browsing modes, new positioning methods, and control over size and show/hide panels.
5. Combination field
Our new combined fields provide a quick and convenient way to combine multi-dimensional fields into a new dimension.
6. Mobile data label shape diagram
Position the data labels to the chart view that best suits you. Visual Analytics automatically draws leading lines from the label's data points as you move the label to a new location.
7. Chart title
You can now display and customize chart titles in your worksheets and dashboards.
8. Data label color
Our new data label color feature allows customizing the default foreground and background colors of data labels.
9. Explain the plan for more than 3 databases
You can now interpret plans in text formats for Hive, Impala and Spark to reduce SQL query bottlenecks.
10. More chart functions
Create rich text for tooltip formatting parameters. Copy and paste from a list of values on a parameter. View aggregation is calculated in the visual analysis status bar when two or more plot segments are highlighted. Choose a color from your desktop or from another website and assign it to the selected data item. Copy a pivot grid to web and desktop applications without highlighting and formatting pasted data. Our new table calculation function returns the number of rows in a partition.
11. Filter performance enhancement
For larger data sets, the filter response time was reduced to 1 minute 52 seconds, and down to 2 seconds when items were not removed from the filter plate. Show and Cancel buttons have reduced lag time when toggling multiple checkboxes.
12. More database versions supported
Connecting to Amazon EMR Hive 5.4, Apache Derby 10.13, Cloudera 5.8, DB2 z/OS 12 2.5, Hortonworks, MAPR 5.2, Netezza 7.2.1, PostgreSQL 9.6, SAP HANA 2, SQLite 3.16, Sybase Anywhere 17, and VoltDB 7.4.
13. Performance enhancement for exporting PDF
PDF is now exported in native format resulting in smaller file sizes and reduced export time when exporting larger data sets. Additionally, text and diagram elements appear crispy at higher zoom levels.
