This program does not rely on virus signatures and is designed to detect the latest threats, which is great, but it also increases the rate of false positives.
Roguekiller is an effective uninstall tool designed to kill rogue software. When our computer runs slowly and malware or plug-ins are found, roguekiller will scan the running applications on the computer and delete the rogue program in a timely manner.
Roguekillers are not the first choice for killing viruses on your computer. But it's worth giving it a try if all other antivirus apps fail, especially since it's green and portable, so there's nothing to install. (Just save all your work before launching this program, as it will try to turn off the error handler on your system).
Features of roguekiller:
This program does not rely on virus signatures and is designed to detect the latest threats, which is great, but it also increases the rate of false positives. When we launched roguekiller, for example, it immediately terminated two completely innocent handlers because it thought they were executing from "suspicious paths."
The program's reports contain a lot of useful information, possibly suspicious startup programs, HOSTS lines, DNS settings, drivers, shortcuts, MBR codes, etc...
Although the roguekiller will shut down boot handlers it does not trust, it will not delete other files and system login settings unless you explicitly press the relevant "Repair" button.
Instructions for use of rogue software killer:
1: Download RogueKiller
2: Exit all running programs
3: In Vista/7, right click -> Run as administrator
4: Otherwise throw RogueKiller.exe
5: When prompted, type 1 and verify
6: When opening the report (RKreport.txt is also located next to the executable file), save and deliver it to the person
7: If the program has been blocked, do not hesitate to try a few more times. If it doesn't (which can happen), rename it to WINLOGON.EXE
