
Altair Flow Simulator function introduction
The latest version of Altair Flow Simulator is integrated flow, heat transfer and combustion design software that enables mixed-fidelity simulation to optimize machine and system designs.
This fluid system design tool provides interdisciplinary modeling and optimization capabilities for machine design within a single platform in terms of fluid dynamics/thermal/combustion in a 3D design environment.
The tool allows users to import actual hardware and utilize 3D CAD point clouds to automatically create computational models overlaid on the machine hardware. An extensive library of preconfigured elements/components can be used to model/simulate a variety of physical phenomena including compressible/incompressible fluid flow, buoyancy driven flow, rotating cavity system flow, conduction/convection/radiation heat transfer, combustion equilibrium chemistry, and species transport.
Eight combinations of analysis modes (steady state, quasi-steady state and transient analysis of hydrodynamics, thermal and combustion) can be used to predict system/subsystem behavior during cycle/mission simulations (flight missions, power boost, shutdown, etc.).
Control system components (Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller, feedforward and mission) can be integrated with computational model systems/subsystems to optimize simulator operation during cycle/mission analysis.

2. Double-click FlowSimulator_18r1_win64.exe to run, select the installation directory, and click next

6. Wait for installation

7. After the installation is complete, do not run the software yet
