Nvidia GeForce 378.92 driver update: noted optimization of "Mass Effect"
Nvidia recently released a driver update for GeForce 378.92. The driver update provides the best gaming experience for all newly released games, including virtual reality games. In addition to regular optimizations, this update also optimizes and updates Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Test game:
Civilization 6 may also crash when skipping the opening scene; Quantum Break may crash in windowed mode (especially on GM204 core-based graphics cards).
Finally, when deploying the new version of the GeForce 378.78 driver, Nvidia graphics card players must perform a clean installation (otherwise, the installation may fail when overwriting the old version).
What to fix:
In addition to performance improvements and support for new products, the GeForce 378.78 driver also fixes some bugs. GeForce Experience's FPS counter should no longer lag, and laptops equipped with a GTX 1050 Ti discrete graphics should no longer experience frequent blue screens of death.
The "Optimize for computing performance" setting that once required sacrificing game performance (when hardware PhysX is enabled) should now be fixed (at least GTX 980 Ti will no longer encounter it); and Steam should also be able to run normally through NVENC Streaming encoded.
Of course, Nvidia has not yet successfully fixed all bugs: for example, "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" still cannot turn on FXAA, otherwise the game will crash; "For Honor" still cannot skip the opening animation when Shadowplay is enabled.
