Waterfall Pro installation instructions
1. Download the latest version of Waterfall Pro software package from Huajun Software Park, double-click the "SETUP.EXE" program to enter the installation wizard interface, click [Next>] here to proceed to the next step
2. The default installation location of the software is "C:/Program Files (x86)/YiHong/Waterfall Pro 2.99 Demo". The editor recommends clicking "Browse..." to select a disk other than the C drive for installation.
3. Here we can choose the location of the start menu folder independently. The default is enough. Continue to [Next>] to proceed to the next step.
4. The software is being installed quickly, please wait for a moment.
5. The software is installed successfully. Click [Finish] to exit the installation wizard.
Waterfall Pro Instructions for Use
After installation, it will automatically perform some analysis on your computer, and then shrink it to the system tray and run automatically. However, this does not mean that it works properly. To realize its many functions, you still have to set it up manually.
Click the Waterfall Pro icon in the system tray, find the Option option in the pop-up panel, and enter the settings. The Celcius and Fahrenheit below are Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature options, you don't need to worry about them.
The information panel below displays the current system information:
Processor Usage: CPU usage
Power Consumption: Power consumption rate
Power Consumption: Power consumption in watts
CPU Tempreture: CPU temperature
Mainboard Tempreture: Mainboard temperature
: Core voltage, input and output voltage, voltage deviation, fan speed, etc.
When you have not completed the Option setting, the panel will only display three options: Processor Usage; Power Consumption; Power Consumption. To display other system information, you must complete the Option setting correctly.
1.CPU & Mainboard Setup: CPU and mainboard settings
Find your CPU model in the CPU drop-down list. If you don’t know it, select its default Generic Processor option. However, in order to get better results, you’d better specify its specific model.
Core voltage: Core voltage. Different CPUs correspond to different core voltages. Generally speaking, Waterfall Pro can automatically adjust according to your CPU, but if the voltage does not match, you need to adjust it manually. If you don't know it, don't change it.
The next step is to select the motherboard, just select it directly. If your motherboard is not within its range, or you do not know your motherboard model, you can select the Generic Mainboard option. The corresponding loss is that Waterfall Pro cannot monitor and alarm the motherboard temperature. So it is recommended that you be precise in this setting anyway.
It should be noted that the hardware models in the drop-down list are somewhat inaccurate. To obtain accurate hardware support information, please find the Appendix A: Mainboard Manufacturers in Taiwan and Appendix B: Processor Information options in its help file. There are detailed hardware information in them, and everything should be based on them.
After setting, press "NEXT" to enter the alarm setting.
2.Alarm: Alarm settings
The drop-down list provides alarm objects for CPU, motherboard, etc. You can set unlimited alarm options, but the more practical ones are the temperature alarm settings for CPU, motherboard, etc. Just choose it.
The Upper Safety Range and Lower Safety Range are used to set the temperature range (upper and lower limits). When the monitored object exceeds this range, an alarm will be issued. Just drag the corresponding slider directly.
The next step is to take corresponding actions based on the above settings.
Decrease the temperature of the CPU when its overheated: If your computer is equipped with a sensor, you can activate this option. When the machine is overheated, the CPU HLT function can be automatically activated to reduce energy consumption and achieve the purpose of cooling the machine.
Play Sound: Of course, you need to specify the sound. The advantage of this is that you can set it to issue different alarm sounds for different events.
Display Alarm Message: Display alarm message, which means that the alarm message will automatically pop up when an emergency occurs. You can freely input it in the input box on the right.
Default Message and Safety Range: Restore default system settings.
3.Miscellaneous: Miscellaneous settings
It’s called miscellaneous, but its function is the core of Waterfall Pro.
If you want to have the function of cooling the CPU, please activate the HLT Enable option. It mainly achieves the purpose of cooling by executing HLT commands on the CPU and reducing the CPU power consumption.
CPU Throttling: A very unique function. If your CPU runs too fast and the temperature inside the machine is too high, it will automatically slow down the CPU to lower the CPU temperature.
The slider below is used to set the CPU Throttling function to be automatically activated when the CPU usage exceeds a certain value. Of course, the larger the value, the better the cooling effect.
4.Additional Modules: additional functions
We mentioned earlier that it can monitor three objects at the same time. Here are the specific setting options.
Drive Space: Warn when the remaining space of the hard disk is less than 10%.
System Info: Automatically warn when the system resources are less than a certain amount. This can be set through Setup.
5.Finish setting up Waterfall Pro: Complete the setting
Are all the above settings completed? Hehe, then click Finish. It will automatically write the information into the system and perform optimization and various settings. You can see this process from the progress bar below it.
If you do not select the correct CPU model in the first setting, your computer will have a blue screen, but don't worry, it will not cause your system to crash.
The support for the operating system is insufficient. Currently, it only supports Win9x and does not support NT/Me/2000.
