Function introduction
Audio Inputs and Outputs Mbox Pro uses the following analog and digital I/O to provide up to eight different input channels and eight different output channels: Analog inputs Two equipped with high-quality microphone preamps (Input 1- 2) Analog audio input channel. Available on each input channel 1–2: 48v phantom power with plug-in. Two XLR/TRS (mic/DI) combo connectors on the front panel and two 1/4-inch "TRS line" connector microphones on the rear panel with switchable +4/-10 input levels The preamplifier features a –20dB attenuator and soft limit switch on each analog input channel. The Gain knob for each channel adjusts the Mic/DI signal. Two additional analog audio input channels with high-quality microphone preamps. Available on each input channel 3–4: 8v phantom power with plug-in. Analog input jacks include two XLR microphone connectors on the rear panel, and two 1/4-inch TRS line connectors with switchable +4/-10 input levels, also on the rear panel. The microphone preamplifier features a –20dB attenuator and soft limit switch on each analog input channel. The Gain knob for each channel adjusts the microphone signal. Two analog audio input channels via RCA or 1/8-inch connectors (auxiliary 5/6). Each input channel provides: Analog input jacks Unbalanced line inputs on RCA connectors or 1/8-inch mini stereo connectors (commonly used to connect to most MP3 players) Input ports allow full transmission of the input into Pro Tools and utilize the Speaker button to give you alternative analog outputs Six balanced 1/4-inch TRS analog outputs that can support line level outputs, multiple stereos, or surround sound up to 5.1 Processing equipment plugged into input channels Insert jacks (1–4) support 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz, 176.4kHz, and 192kHz sample rates Two 24-bit A/D and D/A converter digital I/O S/PDIF digital input and output channels. The S/PDIF input is available independently, plus analog inputs 1–6. And S/PDIF output from Pro Tools is always available.
MIDI usage
One MIDI In and one MIDI Out port, providing 16 MIDI input channels and 16 MIDI output channels. Additional features and specifications The Multi button located on the front panel can be assigned to operate many of the common Pro Tools functions. Low latency direct recording. Onboard tuner. Two 1/4-inch (TRS) stereo headphone outputs A and B with independently adjustable level and track controls Control room features include front-panel Dim/Mute switch, Mono Channel) switch and Speaker/Source switch Footswitch jack for starting or stopping playback or punching in and out while recording.
