Game introduction
"Day of Infamy", which is set in World War II, was originally just a World War II-style MOD for "Insurrection", but after the MOD became popular, the producer decided to go solo and launch an independent game "Day of Infamy." Even so, "Day of Infamy" still has a lot in common with "Insurrection", the core mechanics have been retained, and the design that emphasizes teamwork has not changed. As early as the end of July this year, the game was launched on Steam Early Access and offers three different modes including Frontline, Liberation and Offensive. The factions players can use are the Commonwealth, the US Army and the German Wehrmacht.
In addition to regular FPS content, "Day of Infamy" also has many unique gameplays, including various tactical options, such as "Call Carpet Bombing"; or faction-specific tactical units, such as the British "Gordon Heights" Human Regiment" or the German "First Infantry Division". The producer promises to bring you more new content in the future, and believes that the content richness of "Day of Shame" will become higher and higher as the game develops.
Game features
Welcome to war-torn Europe
Days of Infamy takes you to the battlefields of Western and Southern Europe during World War II. There are 10 maps in total, ranging from ruined cities to farm villages, fortress-lined tidal flats to snowy forests. Whether you're fighting on behalf of the US Army, Commonwealth forces or the German Wehrmacht, there's a huge armory with over 70 historically famous weapons and equipment.
Find your expertise
Days of Infamy features 9 player classes and 10 objective-based game modes, giving you multiple different experiences depending on your character. Your objectives include capturing areas, assassinating officers, stealing enemy intelligence, and sabotaging anti-aircraft guns, fuel stations, and radio communications centers. Multiplayer includes large-scale battles with constant reinforcements, as well as small-scale, objective-based operations with reinforcements. Co-op gameplay includes three distinct game modes against challenging AI enemies.
Outwit the enemy
Day of Shame brings a highly strategic experience, allowing you to gain intelligent control and team coordination skills. Please pay close attention to your surroundings. Blindly charging into an open area is the easiest way to get killed in one shot. Stick to a corner, lie prone to secure your handlebars, and move slowly to conceal your footsteps - these are all effective tactics for staying alive. A team that is tight-knit, moves forward vigilantly, and takes full advantage of VOIP has a better chance of defeating a dispersed, disorganized opponent.
command
Choose the officer profession in the game and you will be at the top of the entire team's chain of command. Together with the communications troops on the battlefield, you can apply for airdrops of supplies, use smoke screens, cover artillery fire, and aircraft strafing and bombing. You can also issue different tactical orders to your team, such as flanking or attacking the target. As an officer, efficient communication allows your comrades to turn the tide of the battle through effective orders.
Level up and get rewards
During the game you will level up and unlock historical gear. Once you reach your weapon skill limit, earn cosmetic items such as melee weapons, gun skins, and cloth bandages. Unlockable content does not give the player any in-game advantage, so game balancing remains based on purely technical aspects.
Collect digital military items
These level-up rewards include unique items such as armbands, helmet stencils, hats, captain's epaulets, voices, and faces. The game includes historically famous regiments rarely seen in World War II games, such as the U.S. 92nd "Bull Warriors" Infantry Division, the Canadian Princess Patricia's Light Infantry, and the British Indian 12th Front Regiment. This game
Also included are some of the more popular historical units for military fans, such as the U.S. 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, the 2nd Ranger Battalion, and German Airborne Paratroopers.
Customize your experience
The game includes mod support and workshop integration, providing players with a wealth of community-created content. Built on Valve's Source Engine, the SDK is one of the most familiar creations. Modders can replace in-game models, textures, sounds, and user interfaces, add new maps, or use the game's theater scripting system for an overall conversion. In the early stages of the game, over 500 mods have been released.
