1. Shape

​ ​ 1.CATIA V5R21 brings top-quality curved surfaces to the automotive industry’s body design, and CATIA Imagine & Shape brings super user experience

2.CATIA Imagine & Shape (imagination and modeling), a virtual clay modeler based on subdivision surface technology, provides world-class surface tools to meet the needs of car body modeling details, such as more advanced usability tools for cutting surfaces for designers. Designers are also able to take advantage of real-time rendering visual feedback during the creation phase. This makes CATIA Imagine & Shape is perfectly suited for body design in the automotive industry

3.CATIA V5R21 achieves functional completeness and is equivalent to V5-V6 features: CATIA Icem product CATIA V5R21 expands the advanced and powerful free-form surface modeling, modification and analysis capabilities in the A-level modeling field. 4.CATIA V5R21 has Loft command enhancements to continuously improve mechanical surface division design technology. The Loft command has been enhanced to define continuity in bends (G2), with section support or wizard support, whereas previously only tangent continuity was supported. This new feature improves the quality of Loft because you can define exactly which continuity you want for sections and guides. Another improvement is the ability to create a surface and endpoint it in one go. In the Loft command, a section and two guide curves that intersect each other at an end point are enough to create a shape, which can improve productivity.

      How to assemble parts

​ ​ First open CATIA and open the assembly design interface through the menu path: Start>Mechanical Design>Assembly Design

Open the assembly design interface as shown in the figure, mainly using the icons [Product Structure Tools], [Constraints], [Move], [Assembly Features], [Measurement], [Update], and [Parts Catalog] toolbars.

Import components or parts through [Component] or [Part] in the [Product Structure Toolbar], where the component refers to the assembly. Generally, the part is included by selecting [Component]; you can also click on the file tree through the icon Right-click the mouse and select [Existing Parts]. Remember that no matter which method you use, you must first click on the graphics tree [Product 1] before importing.

Through [Operation] in the [Move] toolbar, you can open the [Operation Parameters] dialog box. There are a variety of movement methods on it. You can click to try the effect.

      How to engrave

Open CATIA, click > Text in the toolbar, a text editor dialog box will pop up, enter the font in it, and adjust the font and size. After the operation is completed, click OK to save the file in dxf format and close the engineering drawing interface;

In the main interface, click > File > Open. A file dialog box will pop up. Select the dxf format file you just saved. Double-click to open the file. In the engineering drawing interface, select the text and click Copy or press Ctrl+C and save the interface. Switch to the main part design interface. The shortcut key is Ctrl+Tab. Use the upper surface of the part as the sketch datum plane to enter the sketch interface, and press Ctrl+V to paste the text and adjust the text to the center of the entity;

After adjusting the text position, exit the sketch interface, click the > Groove command in the toolbar, select the first restriction type as Until the end, and select the outline as the font sketch just pasted, click Preview and OK to exit the command dialog box, and operate Finish.
