String search:
1. Click the button to the right of "Source Folder", select the source folder, and tell the program which folder to search in.
2. In the "Source File" box, select or enter the source file name. If "*.*" is selected, all files will be searched.
3. In the "String to be found" box, enter the keyword to be found. Each keyword occupies one line.
4. If you have entered multiple keywords, please select whether there is an "AND" or "OR" relationship between the keywords in the "Keyword combination conditions" box.
5. Set the items in "Options" as needed. The first two items are meaningless for Chinese retrieval and are only useful for alphabetic characters.
6. Click the "Start" button to start the search. During the search process, the "Start" button will change to "Stop". Click to interrupt the search process.
7. After the search is completed, the program will pop up a dialog box to tell the user how many records were found, and ask the user whether they want to view the search records.
8. If the user chooses to view the search record, the program will pop up a new window to display the results. When the user double-clicks a line in the result window, the program will pop up a dialog box allowing the user to select a browser to view the double-clicked content. After selecting, the file will be opened in the selected browser.
9. If the user wants to view the search results repeatedly, click the "View Results" button to pop up the result viewing window.
Software features:
1. Full text search. After collecting a lot of information, novels, and source codes, I often have trouble figuring out where things are stored. Manually building and maintaining indexes is too tiring, and using the full-text search provided by Windows is too resource-consuming. At this time, using FindStr to search is very suitable, and you can search and view directly in zip/rar without unpacking, and it can automatically remember the password for encrypted compressed files. zip includes extensions such as uvz, jar, war, cbz, etc., rar includes extensions such as cbr.
2. Organize the collected information. I often use it to organize downloaded or decompiled e-books, including removing advertising links in batches, changing absolute URLs to relative URLs, etc.
3. Supports ANSI, Unicode, and utf-8 encoded text files. Unicode-encoded files must start with FE FF or FF FE. If a utf-8 file starts with EF BB BF, you can omit the time to determine the encoding. Otherwise, it will travel through the entire text to determine whether it is a utf-8 encoded file.
