Advanced Office Password Recovery software introduction
1. Crack settings
In order to shorten the time for AOPR to crack the document password, you should estimate the composition characteristics of the password before using it, and then reasonably choose the cracking strategy to be used. If the password may consist of English words, names, etc., the "dictionary" method is preferred to crack. If it is composed of letters, numbers, etc. randomly, the "violent" method is faster. The method to set the cracking strategy is: open the "Recovery" tab in the AOPR window and select one of the three options under "Strong Encrypted Document Cracking Category".
1. Dictionary cracking. If the password may consist of English words, names, etc., you should select "Dictionary Cracking (Recommended)". AOPR only brings one password dictionary file, which has been used in preparation for cracking. Therefore, to carry out dictionary cracking, you need to select other password dictionary files. In the "Dictionary" tab (as shown in Figure 2), click "Get Dictionary", and you can mail-order password dictionary CDs on the AOPR official website that opens. In addition, dictionary files can also be generated by professional dictionary tools. Here we recommend "Easy Dictionary Generator" to everyone. This tool has comprehensive functions and can generate birthday dictionaries, define special bits, and generate phone number dictionaries, etc.
2. Masked brute force cracking. If you know several characters in the password, it is recommended to select "Mask Brute Force". Using masked brute force is more time-saving than using pure brute force. When using this cracking method, open the "Brute Force" tab and enter the characters contained in the password in the "Mask/Mask Characters:" box; in addition, in order to minimize the number of tried combinations, you still need to set the length of the password and the character set in which other characters in the password are located.
3. Brute force cracking. If the password consists of random letters, numbers, etc., you should select "Brute force cracking". Brute force cracking is a cracking method that tries all combinations of characters (English letters, numbers, symbols, etc.) in sequence. The more possible combinations, the longer the cracking time, and the number of combinations is directly related to the length of the password and the character set used in the password. Therefore, in order to reduce the number of possible combinations, you should estimate the composition characteristics of the password before cracking, then open the "Brute Force" tab (as shown in Figure 4), select the minimum and maximum length of the password under "Password Length", and include the known or estimated password length; if the password is composed of lowercase English letters and numbers, select "a-" under "Character Set". z" and "0-9", otherwise the corresponding option should be selected according to the character set that constitutes the password.
If we know nothing about the composition of the password, we should open the "Options" tab and select "Prepare for brute force cracking", "Prepare for dictionary cracking" and "Prepare for password cache cracking" (Figure 5).
Once the crack fails, you need to go back to the "Brute Force" tab to modify the original cracking settings, such as increasing the minimum and maximum password length range, and selecting more types of character sets such as "A-Z" (Figure 6).
2. Crack the password
The operation of AOPR to crack the password is very simple. Click the "Open File" button to open the dialog box, select "All supported file types" (or the file type to be cracked) in the "File Type" drop-down list, and then find and select the file to be cracked. Here we choose the Word file. Click "Open" to start cracking the password immediately. The "Progress Indicator" below the main interface window will display the current cracking progress (Figure 7).
Once AOPR finds the correct document password, the "Word Password Recovery" dialog box will automatically pop up (Figure 8). We only need to click the button at the right end of the row showing the password to copy the cracked password to the clipboard.
Then click "Open" in the "Word Password Recovery" dialog box to open the "Password" dialog box of the document (Figure 9), press Ctrl+V to paste the password into it, and you can open the document with the cracked password.
Advanced Office Password Recovery FAQ
File format not supported
Problem description:
AOPR cannot open Office files in certain formats.
Solution:
Confirm whether the file format is supported by AOPR. AOPR supports a variety of Office file formats, but some newer or older formats may not be supported.
If the file format is not supported, you can try to convert the file to a format supported by AOPR, and then perform password recovery.
