Introduction to the work report of the Supreme People's Court
Dear representatives:
Now, on behalf of the Supreme People's Court, I will make a work report to the General Assembly for review, and also invite members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference to put forward their opinions.
1. Regarding trial and execution work
Crimes of dereliction of duty that cause heavy losses to the country and the collective are punished in accordance with the law. Defendants in a number of major liability accident cases have been held criminally responsible in accordance with the law. Strengthen human rights protection in the criminal justice field. The People's Court strictly controls the facts, evidence, procedures and applicable laws of the case, insisting on heavy punishment for serious crimes, light punishment for misdemeanors, and impunity for innocent crimes.
Actively participate in the comprehensive management of social security. In conjunction with trial work, we vigorously carry out legal publicity and education activities. Through live broadcast of court hearings and public reporting of selected typical cases, we use cases to explain the case and popularize the law.
