ZTF automated test framework, referred to as ZTF, is an open source automated test management framework. Compared with existing automated testing frameworks on the market, ZTF focuses more on the management functions of automated testing. ZTF provides the definition, management, driving of automated test scripts, return of execution results, creation of bugs, and integration with other automated testing frameworks. ZTF is developed using go language and can support various platforms. ZTF supports common programming languages, and you can choose the language you like to use to develop automated test scripts.

Why do you want to do ZTF?

There are already many automated testing frameworks on the market, why do we need to do ZTF? ZTF mainly solves the problem of test management. The automated testing frameworks currently on the market are mainly divided into two categories: unit testing frameworks and automated testing frameworks in certain fields. The unit testing framework is bound to each language, such as cppunit, phpunit etc. The second type of framework is represented by selenium, which can be used for automated web testing. There are also frameworks for automated testing of GUI or mobile applications or even games.

This creates a problem, we need to uniformly manage the test scripts of these automated testing frameworks. Each script can be associated with a use case in the test management system, and the step information in the script and the use case information in the management system can be synchronized with each other. The results of test execution can be reflected in the test management system, and failed test scripts can create bugs. For this purpose we developed the ZTF test management framework.
