Parallel query:

Multiple data partitions:

To improve system performance and cope with massive data processing, KingbaseES provides a variety of data partitioning technologies. The basic idea of ​​these technologies is to divide the table into several sub-tables horizontally or vertically according to the IO access characteristics of the actual application, so that data with the same or similar IO characteristics are stored in the same sub-table. In this way, when users access the database, they do not need to access all sub-tables of the partitioned table, but only need to access limited sub-tables, thereby achieving the purpose of reducing I/O access.

After KingbaseES data is partitioned, users can transparently access a partitioned table without having to consider the existence of the partition, or directly access a single partition. It currently includes two types of partitioning technologies: horizontal partitioning and vertical partitioning.

Index coverage:

In general, the index is smaller than the table, and index coverage optimization reduces the I/O operations on the data table. For example, when the index is only one-tenth the size of the table, the IO access amount covered by the index is only ten times that of the index scan. one part. In terms of data writing, KingbaseES supports the following three methods:

This method skips the process of buffering data in shared buffers and writing WAL logs, and directly writes the qualified imported data to Datasheet. Therefore, data loaded in this way requires specialized procedures for data recovery.
