2. The process of comparing two files

The following introduces the operation process of comparing two files through DeepCompare file depth comparison software.

First, open the two files that need to be compared. You can click the two "File Open" buttons on the left and right to open the two files that need to be compared.

You can also directly drag the two files that need to be compared into the left and right text boxes with the mouse to open the original files directly.

Click the "Start Deep Comparison" button at the top of the DeepCompare file depth comparison software interface to start the comparison task.

After the execution is completed, the software will visually mark the comparison results in three colors:

a) The white background indicates that the two files have identical parts;

b) The pink background indicates the modified content of the two files;

3. Save the comparison results

DeepCompare file depth comparison software saves the comparison results in two different ways:

a) The difference content is extracted separately and saved as an independent file.

The operation method is:

If you want to extract the comparison result of the file on the left, click the "Save" button on the left side of the picture below;

If you want to extract the comparison results of the file on the right, click the "Save" button on the right side of the picture below.

b) The comparison results are saved as “.dpcp” project files.

When you open it again, you don't need two original files, just double-click to open the ".dpcp" project file. This feature allows users to view comparison results at any time without retaining the original files, making it easier for project archiving and team collaboration.

The operation method is to click "File" > "Save comparison results as .dpcp project file" in the menu bar.

3.1. Extract the difference content separately and save it as an independent file

Based on the comparison results of the above two files, the DeepCompare file depth comparison software can separately extract the contents of one file that are the same, different, and modified as the other file, and save them as independent text files for further analysis and processing.

The operation method is:

If you want to extract the comparison result of the file on the left, click the "Save" button on the left side of the picture below;

If you want to extract the comparison results of the file on the right, click the "Save" button on the right side of the picture below.

After clicking the save button, in the pop-up window, you can single-select or multiple-select to save "only the same part", "only the changed part", "Only completely different parts". Then select the saved file path and file name, and click Save.

If you only check "Only the same part" when saving, only the identical parts of the two files will be extracted from the results and saved to a new independent file.

If you only check "Only the modified part" when saving, only the modified parts of the two files will be extracted from the results and saved to a new independent file.

If you only check "Only completely different parts" when saving, only the completely different parts of the two files will be extracted from the results and saved to a new independent file.

3.2. Save the comparison results as ".dpcp" project file

DeepCompare file in-depth comparison software can save all the above comparison results as ".dpcp" project files, so that in the future, if the original files are not available, you can directly open the ".dpcp" project files to view the comparison results, or forward them to others for review. When you open it again, you don't need two original files, just double-click to open the ".dpcp" project file. This feature allows users to view comparison results at any time without retaining the original files, making it easier for project archiving and team collaboration.

3.2.1. Content selection

All comparison results of the above two files will be saved to the ".dpcp" project file, including the same, changed, and completely different parts of the two files.

          Other users who open the ".dpcp" project file will be able to view all the above results.

3.2.1.1 Only save the comparison of the identical parts of the two files

DeepCompare file depth comparison software, click "File" > "Save comparison results as .dpcp project file" in the menu bar. In the pop-up window, select "Only the same part" to save the content. Only the contents of the identical parts of the two files will be saved to the ".dpcp" project file.

When other users open the ".dpcp" project file, they will only see the identical parts of the two files.

3.2.1.2 Save only the comparison of the modified parts of the two files

DeepCompare file in-depth comparison software, click "File" > "Save comparison results as .dpcp project file" in the menu bar. In the pop-up window, select "Only changed parts" to save the content. Only the modified parts of the two files will be saved to the ".dpcp" project file.

When other users open the ".dpcp" project file, they will only be able to see the contents of the modified parts of the two files.

3.2.1.2 Only save the comparison of completely different parts of the two files

DeepCompare file depth comparison software, click "File" > "Save comparison results as .dpcp project file" in the menu bar. In the pop-up window, select "Only completely different parts" to save the content. Only the contents of completely different parts of the two files will be saved to the ".dpcp" project file.

When other users open the ".dpcp" project file, they will only see the comparison results of completely different parts of the two files.

3.2.2. Save permission selection

4. Introduction to toolbar

4.1. Enlarge the font size

In the toolbar, click the "Enlarge Font" tool button to enlarge the fonts of the comparison results of the left and right files in the main interface.

4.2. Make the font size smaller

DeepCompare file depth comparison software, in the toolbar, the "Font Smaller" tool button icon is as shown below.

Clicking the "Reduce Font Size" tool button will reduce the font size of the comparison results between the left and right files in the main interface.

In the DeepCompare software toolbar:

a) Select the "Synchronized Scroll" tool button, and the comparison results of the left and right files in the main interface will scroll up and down simultaneously.

b) Uncheck the "Synchronized Scroll" tool button. The comparison results of the left and right files in the main interface will not scroll up and down synchronously, but will scroll up and down independently.

4.4. Display all contents of two texts

After clicking the "Show all contents of two texts" tool button, the main interface will display all the comparison results of the two files, including the comparison results of the same, changed, and completely different parts.

After clicking the "Only display the identical parts of the two text contents" tool button, the main interface will only display the comparison results of the identical parts of the two files.

In the toolbar of the DeepCompare software, the tool button icon of "Only display the changed parts of the two text contents" is as shown below.

In the DeepCompare software toolbar, after clicking the "Show only the changed parts of the two text contents" tool button, the main interface will display only the comparison results of the modified parts of the two files.

4.7. Only display two parts with completely different text contents.

In the DeepCompare software toolbar, the "Only display two parts with completely different text content" tool button icon is as shown below.

In the toolbar of the DeepCompare software, after clicking the "Only display the completely different parts of the two text contents" tool button, the main interface will only display the comparison results of the completely different parts of the two files.

5. Menu bar

The DeepCompare software menu bar includes four main menus: "File", "Content Display", "View", and "Help".

5.1 "File" main menu

a) Create a new comparison project;

b) Open the comparison result .dpcp file

c) Save the comparison results as a .dpcp file
