Cadrage Director Viewfinder is available for iPhone/iPad. Plan any shot for a professional camera/lens combination with precise framing previews, ensuring your team is all on the same page during production and filming.
App language: English
If you're into filmmaking, you're probably familiar with traditional director's viewfinders: they've been part of the filmmaking process for decades, allowing directors and cinematographers to quickly frame shots without having to move the camera. The creation of this tool takes this technology to the next level: using your smartphone's camera, Cadrage is able to accurately simulate the framing of any camera and lens setup. Instant preview and rapid shooting. Whether you're a film student or an experienced filmmaker, this app will help you get the most valuable footage out of your shoot.
Cadrage has a built-in gallery and project manager that can help you organize your images and add comments. You can send them via email, upload them to Dropbox, or create neat and clean PDF framing lists. All important information such as format, focal length, compass orientation and GPS data will be appended to your list.
We've included all the commonly used professional camera formats (see some lists), but if your camera format isn't found in the database, you can easily create a custom camera format. Cadrage supports spherical and anamorphic (1.3x, 1.5x, 2x) lenses and also uses a Metabones Speedbooster adapter.
In order to expand the viewing area of the phone and simulate a variety of wide-angle lenses, Cadrage also supports third-party wide-angle adapters. The following lenses are pre-calibrated:
Moment Lens (Wide/Tele), olloclip 4-in-1, Schneider iPro (Wide/Super Wide/Tele)
When you purchase the Cadrage Director Viewfinder, your device will always be up to date. We regularly add new cameras and new features to the database so that Cadrage can provide more convenient services. If you encounter any problems related to the application, or if some functionality is missing, please get in touch with us by email (English/German): support@distantblue.at! We are happy to serve you!
