TimeVertor is a small, free time conversion tool that converts date times to human-readable RFC 822, ISO 8601, UNIX timestamps, Mac timestamps, Microsoft timestamps, and file times.

Basic science

A unix timestamp is the number of seconds elapsed since January 1, 1970 (midnight UTC/GMT) and does not take leap seconds into account. A Unix timestamp (Unix epoch, Unix time, POSIX time or Unix timestamp in English) is the number of seconds that have elapsed since January 1, 1970 (midnight UTC/GMT), regardless of leap seconds. The 0 in the UNIX timestamp is: 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z according to the ISO 8601 specification. One hour is expressed as a UNIX timestamp in the format of: 3600 seconds; a day is expressed as a UNIX timestamp of 86400 seconds, and leap seconds are not counted. UNIX timestamps are stored as 32 bits on most UNIX systems, which causes the year 2038 problem or Y2038.

How to use
