PuTTY is a Telnet, SSH, rlogin, pure TCP and serial interface connection software. Putty is a free Telnet, SSH and rlogin client under Windows x86 platform, but its functions are no less than commercial Telnet tools.

Xshell is a powerful secure terminal emulation software that supports SSH1, SSH2, and the TELNET protocol of the Microsoft Windows platform.

It can be used to access remote servers under different systems under the Windows interface, thereby better achieving the purpose of remote control of the terminal.

Comparison between XShell and PuTTY:

Putty is a free software, and there are many plug-ins that can implement some of the missing functions. Personally, I still mainly use Putty because it has usable functions and is very fast.

XShell is more suitable for the management of a large number of machines.
