Please install the game virtual disk first and start the game virtual disk service before adding the game virtual disk. Otherwise, the addition and configuration of the game virtual disk cannot be completed.
Netwei Master Game Virtual Disk 5.6.0.0 and higher versions have integrated the game virtual disk server with the synchronization node. Therefore, as long as you configure the game virtual disk information and install the game virtual disk server, the game can be automatically Synchronize from the Netdimensional Master server to the game virtual disk server.
[Game virtual disk V5.6.0.0 version update instructions]
1. Modify the cache setting method and adjust the cache size without restarting the service.
2. Optimize caching scheme and improve caching efficiency
Add virtual disk:
1. Click the "Game Virtual Disk" button on the Netdimensional Master console, open the "Game Virtual Disk Settings" interface, click the [Add] button, and you will see the following interface.
Game virtual disk server IP address: If you have installed the game virtual disk server version 5.3.0.0 or higher, click the drop-down arrow to select the game virtual disk server IP address.
Game virtual disk server drive letter: Select the drive letter where the game virtual disk server stores the game and is ready to be mapped to the client.
Map to client drive letter: Select the server drive letter to map to the client drive letter.
Game virtual disk type: If you are using "Netdimensional Master Game Virtual Disk", please select "Netdimensional Master Game Virtual Disk";
If you are using a "third-party virtual disk" or other diskless solutions combined with NetDimension Master, please select "third-party virtual disk".
Automatically eject the disk at startup: This function only supports the automatic ejection of the game virtual disk at startup. If this option is not checked, the client will not automatically connect to the virtual disk when it is started, but will wait for the user to start the game on the game virtual disk. connect.
Set cache: The cache can only be set when the game virtual disk server is turned on. If the game virtual disk server is not turned on or installed, the set cache button will be gray and unavailable.
Set up the game virtual disk cache:
NetDimension Master said: Starting from NetDimension Master version 7.1.6.0, there are two ways to set up the cache of the game virtual disk:
Method 1: Set the game virtual disk cache when adding a game virtual disk to the NetDimension Master server (the premise is that the game virtual disk server must be installed first, otherwise the cache cannot be set).
1. On the Netdimensional Master console, click "Game Virtual Disk" or press the F3 shortcut key to directly enter the game virtual disk setting interface.
2. When adding or modifying the game virtual disk configuration information, click Set Cache.
3. The figure below shows the cache setting interface. Just set the cache size according to the actual situation of the server (see cache setting suggestions)
At the same time, starting from the 5.3.0.0 version of the NetDimension Master game virtual disk, the game virtual disk has supported SSD cache. You only need to select the drive letter of the SSD disk in the following interface to complete the SSD cache settings.
4. To set and change the cache size, you need to manually restart the game virtual disk service. You can select the server with the cache size set in the Netdimensional Master Console = "Monitoring Center =" Game Virtual Disk Monitor, and right-click to restart the service. You can also manually restart the service on the game virtual disk server.
Note: Restarting the game virtual disk service may cause the client to freeze the game for 1 to 3 seconds. The service will automatically return to normal after the service is restarted. Therefore, it is recommended that you choose a time period when the Internet cafe's occupancy rate is relatively low to restart the service.
Method 2: Set up a cache on the game virtual disk server.
1. Open the Disk Monitor => Basic Settings window on the game virtual disk server.
2. In the input box of "Virtual Disk Cache Size", enter the cache size. After setting the game virtual disk cache size, you need to restart the service for it to take effect.
Note: SSD cache cannot be set on the game virtual disk server.
Associate a game virtual disk with a guest group.
Note: If the game virtual disk is not associated with the client group, the client will not be able to launch the game from the virtual disk, and the game on the independent virtual disk server will not be updated.
1. The game virtual disk configuration is completed.
2. Configure the game to the client group. If you do not configure the game to the client group, you will not see any games on the client.
3. When you complete the above configuration, the game synchronization function can be updated. Starting from version 5.3.0.0, Netwei Master Game Virtual Disk has integrated the synchronization node with the game virtual disk server. As long as you install the game virtual disk service terminal, and configure the virtual disk information in the NetDimension Master console, the game will automatically start synchronization.
Note: Whether your NetDimension Master server and game virtual disk server are installed on the same server, or installed separately on multiple servers, following the above method can automatically synchronize the games on the NetDimension Master server to the game on the virtual disk server. When the game on the NetDimension Master server is updated, the virtual disk server will also be automatically updated simultaneously.
How to load balance game virtual disks:
At present, we all know that the network diskless disk (system virtual disk) can automatically load balance, but the game virtual disk cannot automatically load balance. We can manually specify it to achieve load balancing.
First of all, it must be satisfied that there are two virtual disk servers or two virtual disks on one server. Then there are two ways to achieve the load.
1. Realized through game popularity (balanced load to two hard disks according to local DP or global DP)
2. Load through the number of client connections
1. Let’s first talk about how to achieve load through game popularity. You can refer to this detailed plan.
2. Implement load through the number of client connections
A. First, in the network dimension console, group management, add two groups
B. In the game virtual disk of the network dimension console, add two virtual disks and configure them to different groups.
C. Go to the existing games on this machine, select all games, group them into different groups, and configure them into different virtual disks
D. Console, in client management, for example, if there are 100 machines, pull 50 machines to load A and 50 machines to load B.
Note: According to the load of the number of client connections, the size of the two virtual disks must be the same. If it is option 2, the version used is 5500+2190+8200 and above of NetDimension Master, which will automatically implement the game virtual disk disaster recovery function.
