Disappointed users: Microsoft delays Windows 10 20H1 optional update option!

You should still remember that Microsoft previously stated that it would strip Optional Updates from Windows Update to make it easier for Windows 10 users to manage optional updates such as drivers, monthly feature updates, and monthly non-security patches.

According to the latest reports from foreign media, this feature will not be available in the upcoming Windows 10 Version 2004 (20H1) feature update, which is somewhat disappointing. After all, Windows 10’s optional update feature may improve the overall Windows Update experience.

In the update log for Build 19035, the Windows 10 20H1 branch released on December 4, Microsoft wrote: "We have completed an experiment on how to deliver driver updates through Windows Update. Devices participating in these experiments will not be available in Settings going forward. >See optional update options under Windows Update.”

As per Microsoft's plan, drivers, feature updates, and monthly updates are initially planned to be included in the "View optional updates" section of the Settings app.

It is reported that Microsoft may postpone this feature to the feature update 20H2 in the second half of this year.
