Slic3r is a free and open source 3D printing slicing software. This is the latest stable v1.2.9 Chinese version, which is more convenient and simple to use. Slic3r is one of the most professional 3D printing software and can definitely meet your high-tech slicing needs.

Features

Customize print bed shape – Users are now able to set the print bed to be rectangular or circular in the software using a very simple bed shape customization tool.

Incremental Live Slicing - No more slicing from scratch every time you change settings. The new settings in this latest version, once implemented, will only be used to calculate the remainder. There is also no need to recalculate when moving an object to the pallet.

OctoPrint Integration – Easily configure, slice and upload data to the popular 3D printer host software OctoPrint.

Varying 3D honeycomb infill structure - The infill structure can now change in the Z-axis direction, rather than simply repeating the same pattern for each layer.

3D Preview Updates – A new OpenGL view has been added to the latest version. This new 3D tool path preview depicts the object that will be 3D printed very accurately.

X/Y Dimension Compensation – Dimensional errors can be quickly and easily fixed within Slic3r software (click here to view additional details about this feature)

Experimental feature to automatically maintain speed – keeping nozzle pressure and extrusion volume constant throughout a specific 3D printing project.

Rotate, scale, flip and mirror functions - these options allow the user to manipulate the model in the Slic3r interface before slicing, making the software a graphical tool in itself.

How to use

1. Set the layer thickness, filling rate, and printing speed. These three items are very important, especially the layer thickness has a great relationship with the printing quality.

2. Set the diameter of the filament and the number of print heads. The common ones are 3mm and 1.75mm.

3. Set the temperature of the print head and the heating plate. Generally, the printing temperature is set at 190-220 degrees Celsius.

4. Set the molding size and printing center position. Common molding sizes now include 225*150*150 and 300*200*200

5. Select the type of firmware. Currently, there are two common ones: Marlin and Makerware.
