everest software introduction
Everest is a green and free hardware detection tool. The main function of Everest is to help users detect system hardware information. It can display the detailed information of each hardware in the computer in detail. It supports thousands of motherboards, hundreds of graphics cards, supports the detection of PNP devices such as parallel ports/serial ports/USB, and supports the detection of various processors. Currently Everest
Home can already support 30 languages including Chinese, allowing you to use it easily. And after several major updates, Everest now has certain hardware testing capabilities, allowing you to have a subjective understanding of the performance of your computer.

How to use everest
1. Detect CPU: Motherboard-Central Processing Unit (CPU)
Note: Whether the processor name is the same as your CPU name, it is best to check the following original clock frequency (i.e. main frequency), maximum multiplier (main frequency ÷ maximum multiplier = FSB, the FSB can be calculated), L2 cache, process technology, etc.
2. Motherboard: motherboard-motherboard; motherboard-chipset
Note: The motherboard name is your motherboard model; the external clock frequency of the front-side bus should be the same as the FSB of your CPU; the effective clock frequency of the memory bus characteristics should be the same as the frequency of your memory.
Note: The upper right corner shows whether the motherboard's chipset (north and south bridge) is correct.
3. Memory: motherboard-memory; motherboard-SPD
?
Note: The upper right corner displays all your single memory sticks. Click on each one to check whether the module name and memory timing are correct.
4. External storage (hard disk, optical drive, etc.):
Note: The hard drive, for example, the HTS541010G9AT00 in the upper right corner is my hard drive model. Below is the relevant information, such as manufacturer, size, capacity, etc.;
The MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-845S under the optical drive is my optical drive model. After clicking it, the brand, supported discs, burning speed, etc. will appear below.
5. Graphics card: display device-graphics processor
Note: The name of the display card, the GPU clock frequency (i.e. the core frequency of the graphics card) are the same as the default frequency and the actual core frequency of the product;
The bus type (i.e., the video memory type), the bus bit width (i.e., the video memory bit width), the external clock frequency (i.e., half of the video memory frequency) are the same as the subsequent default frequency and half of the actual video memory frequency of the product;
Effective clock frequency (that is, the memory frequency is 2 times the above)
6. Monitor: display device-monitor
Note: The monitor model and supported video mode in the upper right corner may not be read, so just write a plug-and-play monitor (I have two monitors connected at the same time)
7. Test: Performance test (prerequisite: close other programs)
Memory test:
Click memory reading, press F5 or refresh in the upper left corner, do not move, and wait for the result. Compare your results with similar memory. For example, mine is DDR333, which should be similar to the DDR333 above.
If it is dual channel, there will be a Dual in front of the memory, such as Dual DDR2-800.
We also test memory writing and memory copying. Memory latency is a bit special and has a lot to do with the motherboard CPU, so it needs to be compared with the same platform. For example, mine is AMD K8, and it is compared with Athlon64.
3200+ and other close comparisons.
CPU test:
Click CPU Queen and press F5. The method is the same as testing memory, but the comparison is based on CPU. For example, my 2.2G should be an Opteron with the same core as 2.2G.
248 is the same (there were many running programs during my test, not to mention that mine is a laptop and I have to hard-replace the CPU with the server version)
See if you need to continue testing the following CPU test.
Hard drive test:
Click on Tools on the menu bar and then Hard Disk Test. When the options appear, click on Linear in the lower left corner.
Read, pay attention to the right side of it to select the hard drive you want to test, the test screen appears, then click Start in the lower left corner, do not move, and wait for the results.
out out of time, just look at the previous part, the right side is the test data, generally the curve is higher in the front, because it is on the periphery of the hard disk, the linear speed is high.
Mainly look at the average speed (Average) in the front. Mine is a notebook IDE, and the speed is very low. It’s ridiculous! Generally speaking, the current mainstream 7200.12 test has reached more than 120MB/s, and the overall speed is around 100MB/s. The smaller the average CPU usage, the better. Generally, 7200.12 is a few percent, which is much better than mine.
Stability test:
Click Tools System Stability Test on the menu bar,
Check the items you want to test in the upper left corner, and then click Start in the lower left corner. Generally, it is meaningful to run it for more than half an hour. If time is limited, you should also test it for a quarter of an hour. At least the temperature of each component should be stabilized at the highest peak.
Monitor test:
Click on Tools on the menu bar Monitor Detection
Click Run Selected Tests.
