On July 31, AutoNavi Maps announced through its official public account that its flagship real-scene navigation function has been fully upgraded, and it has simultaneously launched the "Aerial AutoNavi" low-altitude smart navigation solution to build a new digital map ecosystem that integrates air and land.

Real-life navigation upgrade: intersection decision-makingefficiency revolution

This upgraded real-scene navigation integrates high-precision maps and AI visual algorithms, and uses "real scene navigation" technology to superimpose real-shot road images and dynamic lane guidance to achieve a three-dimensional presentation of intersection traffic information. For complex intersection scenarios, the system can trigger the "navigation advance warning" mechanism 300 meters in advance, automatically pop up a 1:1 scale enlarged view of the real scene, and provide the optimal lane change path combined with real-time traffic flow data. Actual test data shows that this function can reduce the error rate by 47% and reduce sudden braking and lane changes by 62%, significantly improving driving safety.

Aerial Gaode: Opening up a new picture of low-altitude economy

The "Aerial AutoNavi" space-time base released at the same time relies on three-dimensional implicit spatial modeling and AI deep learning technology to create a fully automatic three-dimensional reconstruction platform to achieve sky-level updates and twin map management of global data. The system covers 388 square kilometers of airspace below 600 meters in Longgang District, Shenzhen, and integrates more than 10 types of data such as human-land relations, meteorology, and airspace status to form a full-area three-dimensional traffic information network. Its core features include:

Dynamic route planning: supports intelligent path planning and space collision warning for multiple types of aircraft such as drones and sightseeing aircraft;

One-stop operation service: Build a "low-altitude Taobao" platform to realize full-link digital management of route application, supply and demand matching, and secondary development;

Scenario-based empowerment: Benchmark applications such as the "hospital-social health" minute-level distribution network of medical drones and practical testing of fire-fighting drones for super-high-rise buildings have been implemented.

Technical collaboration: full-area layout from ground to airspace

This upgrade marks Amap’s strategic transformation from a traditional navigation tool to a spatio-temporal intelligent service provider. The AI vision algorithm of real-scene navigation and the three-dimensional reconstruction technology of "Aerial Amap" are based on the Nebula engine and cloud environment platform independently developed by Amap, which can achieve millisecond-level response and centimeter-level accuracy. Up to now, Amap has deployed over 320,000 kilometers of high-precision map data across the country, supporting multiple scenario applications such as intelligent driving and low-altitude flight.

Vice President of AutoNavi Maps said, "We are extending map services from the ground to the airspace through an integrated air-ground digital base to build a three-dimensional traffic neural network for smart cities. In the future, users will be able to obtain a unified safe and efficient navigation experience whether driving on the ground or flying in the air."
