Recently, Dark Sky, one of the most popular subscription weather apps on the Android platform, officially announced that it was acquired by Apple.

Dark Sky officially stated that after the acquisition, the Dark Sky APP on Android and Wear OS will be removed from the shelves on July 1, 2020, and the service will be closed and refunds will be provided. The iOS version of the APP will not be affected.

Dark Sky has more than 1 million downloads on Google Play, with a total of 20,170 reviews and a score of over 4.4. It is a well-known weather APP.

On the App Store, Dark Sky's performance is even more dazzling. At a price of $3.99, it has received 72,000 reviews and a super high score of 4.6 points, and was even selected as an editor's pick.

Currently, Dark Sky will continue to provide support for the Android APP until July, when the APP is removed from the shelves and closed. All subscribers will receive a refund of US$2.99/year, and its official website will also be officially closed.

However, Apple has not always been so unkind to the Android platform. Apple had previously acquired a music app called Shazam. Its Android version was not affected in any way and was even updated regularly.
