Lie detection is an activity to identify lies. The word "polygraph" comes from "polygraph"; the original text of "polygraph" is Polygraph, which is literally translated as "multiple recorder". It is an instrument that records multiple physiological reactions and can be used to detect crimes. It is used to assist in the investigation to understand the psychological state of the suspect being questioned and to determine whether he or she is involved in a criminal case. Since the real criminal suspects will often deny involvement in the crime and lie, it is commonly known as "lie detection". To be precise, "lie detection" does not measure the "lie" itself, but measures changes in physiological parameters caused by psychological stimulation. Therefore, "lie detector" should be called "multi-parameter psychological test" scientifically and accurately, and "lie detector" should be called "multi-parameter psychological tester".
