New feature of WeChat Moments: you can post videos up to 5 minutes long

Recently, some netizens discovered that Moments now supports posting 5-minute long videos. You can select or shoot long videos directly from the photo album.

After users click the "Camera" button in the upper right corner of the Moments circle, they can take a video through the "Take Photo or Video" option. Or users can also directly select videos in the mobile phone album through the "Select from Album" button.

Videos selected in the album that are longer than 5 minutes must be trimmed to within 5 minutes before they can be published. After the video is sent successfully, the user can drag the progress bar and adjust the speed.

It is reported that WeChat Moments previously had strict restrictions, and users could only upload videos less than 30 seconds in length.

If the video length exceeds this limit, you need to upload the video to your video account first, and then forward and share it to your circle of friends through the video account.

Information shows that in the initial stage of the launch of Moments, only 15-second short videos were supported. When WeChat version 8.0.3 was released in 2021, WeChat extended the duration of Moments videos from 15 seconds to 30 seconds.

It should be noted that although the 30-second limit on WeChat Moments videos has been lifted, it is not unlimited.

After the change, the current maximum time for WeChat to post videos to Moments is 5 minutes. Once it exceeds 5 minutes, it still needs to be trimmed. In addition, this change has not yet been fully launched and is in a state of gray scale.
