Pango is an international text processing library that revolves around the PangoLayout object that expresses text using paragraphs. Pango provides a text processing engine for GtkTextView, GtkLabel, GtkEntry, and other GTK+ components that need to display text.

Pango has been integrated into most Linux distributions and is used in Fedora Core 6 for text rendering in the Firefox web browser and Thunderbird email client. Although Pango is not included in Mozilla's source code, FedoraCore received special permission from the Mozilla Foundation [1]. Likewise, Debian's Iceweasel, IceDove and IceApe also use Pango.
