Unlike previous years, this year’s waitlist ticket purchase function has also been adjusted. Starting from 0:00 on January 11, the Railway 12306 website (including mobile client) has optimized and upgraded the waitlist ticket purchasing function, increased the number of waitlisted orders and alternative plans, expanded the range of waitlisted order redemption time options, and prioritized the allocation of temporary new passenger train seats. For passengers who have submitted waitlisted orders, we will further improve the success rate of waitlisted tickets for passengers.

The specific changes are reflected in four aspects:

The first is to increase the number of waiting orders. The number of waiting orders that can be submitted for redemption per passenger has been increased from 2 to 6, and a maximum of 9 passengers can be added to each order.

The second is to increase the number of alternatives. It turns out that when passengers submit a waiting order, they can choose two adjacent travel dates, and each date can choose 5 "train + seat" combinations, with a maximum of 10 combinations. After the optimization and upgrade, passengers can choose any 3 travel dates during the pre-sale period, and can choose up to 60 "date + train" combinations in total, and multiple seats can be selected for each train.

The third is to expand the range of wait-list order fulfillment time options. The original deadline for waiting orders to be redeemed was 2 hours before departure. After optimization and upgrade, it was adjusted to 20 minutes before departure. Passengers can choose to modify the deadline for redemption based on the actual situation within a wider range.

Fourth, temporarily added passenger train seats will be allocated first to passengers who have submitted waiting orders. When submitting a waiting order, passengers can choose to accept the purchase of new passenger train tickets that meet their travel needs. If the railway department temporarily adds new passenger trains, when the tickets go on sale, Railway 12306 will automatically give priority to passengers who have submitted waiting orders. Passengers do not need to manually check the information of additional trains and then purchase tickets.
