Profoto brings Air Remote TTL and HSS to Fuji cameras

Profoto’s B1X, b1, B2, D2 and Pro-10 lights will be used with a remote control, which is a small radio transmitter that attaches to the hot shoe of a Fujifilm camera.

AirTTL’s remote has been around since November 2013 when it was first announced, and Profoto has occasionally added compatibility with new camera brands since then.

Profoto claims the remote “enables a streamlined workflow and seamless integration of your camera and flash.”

TTL mode enables fully automatic instant-style shooting, while HSS mode allows users to "form light in daylight".

It’s worth noting that you can now switch directly from TTL mode to manual mode, retaining the automatic TTL settings. This eliminates the need for you to go around and drastically adjust the settings.

Fujifilm has also partnered with Profoto to ensure the remote is "future proof" for new cameras it may release.

The remote control is powered by 2 AAA alkaline batteries, which can last up to 30 hours. It weighs only 75 grams including battery.

With an operating range of 300 meters, 8 digital channels, and the ability to control up to 3 groups of lights per channel, the Air Remote TTL-F is likely to be a welcome addition to many Fujifilm photographers’ camera bags.
