JabRef For Linux

JabRef is an open source reference management software written in the Java language, so it is inherently cross-platform and can be used on Windows, Linux and Mac with Java support. It can easily manage documents downloaded to the local machine and generate a BibTeX document database for use by LaTeX or other software. It can be used in conjunction with Kile, Emacs, Vim, WinEdt and other software.

The biggest feature of JabRef is that it uses a BibTeX format database, so it is most suitable for LaTeX users; if you only use its management function, it can also be used for local e-book management; for users who use M$ Office to write papers, EndNote is the best choice, it can be integrated into M$ Word, so JabRef is not recommended.

The literature database of JabRef is a plain text bib file, and the database file can be placed in the directory of the literature on the subject. For example, if you want to create a database of related literature in the p2p direction, you only need to create a p2p directory, select File->New Database in JabRef, then Ctrl-s, name the database p2p.bib, and save it in the p2p directory. Then set the Database Encoding in File->Database properties to UTF-8 (this is because the author of the paper may be French and we often write comments in Chinese, so it is best to use an international character set), Directory are Set to a dot. (indicates the current directory, so you can package the entire directory and throw it to another Linux/Win/Mac machine for normal use).
