Last week, the Samsung Galaxy S20 series of mobile phones was grandly released. It has a 2K/120Hz display, Snapdragon 865, 16GB LPDDR5 memory, 108MP camera, 100x zoom, and full-body Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It can be described as extremely luxurious and highlights Android. The identity of the machine king.

However, after considering multiple internal and external factors, Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst at Tianfeng Securities, predicted in the latest investment report that the shipment volume of the Galaxy S20 series this year is expected to be 30 to 32 million units.

The numbers don’t look low, but compared to the S10 series’ estimated shipments of 36 to 38 million units in 2019, they have declined by 10 to 20%.

Ming-Chi Kuo pointed out that although the S20 has many hardware upgrades, it does not provide obvious user experience innovation. In addition, Samsung is pursuing activities to increase its market share in the mid- to low-end segment. Kuo Ming-Chi believes that this move will be detrimental to high-end camera module manufacturer Largan.

This year, the starting price of the S20 series mobile phones has reached US$999, and the starting prices of the S20+ and S20 Ultra are higher than Apple’s current iPhone 11 Pro Max.
