Some functional details of the Edge browser include support for built-in Cortana voice function; built-in reader, note-taking and sharing functions; design focusing on practicality and minimalism; and the rendering engine is called EdgeHTML. The Edge browser will use an "e" character icon, which is somewhat similar to the icon that Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser has used since 1996. However, Joe Belfiore, director of Microsoft's operating system business, said that the "e" icon currently used is completely different from the icons used in the past and has a better meaning.
