Desktop virtualization (or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) is a server-based computing model. The VDI concept was first proposed by desktop virtualization vendor VMware and has now become a standard technical term. Although it borrows the traditional thin client model , but allows administrators and users to obtain the advantages of both methods at the same time: all desktop virtual machines are hosted in the data center and managed uniformly; at the same time, users can obtain a complete PC experience.
