Xi'an Jiaotong University Press was established in 1983 with the approval of the Ministry of Culture. It is a comprehensive university press with book, audio-visual, electronic, and Internet publishing qualifications. In 2009, Xi'an Jiaotong University Press was rated as a first-level publishing house by the State Press and Publication Administration, and won the honorary title of "National Top 100 Book Publishing Units". It is the only national first-level publishing house in the northwest region.
In the 34 years since its establishment, the publishing house has published more than 9,000 new books, more than 1,100 audio-visual products, and more than 330 electronic publications. More than 300 publications have won national, provincial and ministerial awards.
