Capture software introduction
You can easily capture and annotate anything on the screen, including windows, objects, menus, full screen (full screen), rectangular/hand-drawn/fixed areas, and scrolling windows or web pages. You can also record all screen activity, including on-screen changes, microphone speech, speaker audio, mouse movements and clicks, and generate highly compressed video files. Choose to send captured content to editor, file, clipboard, printer, email, OneNote/Word/Excel/PowerPoint document or upload it to your website.
Editing tools include annotation (text, lines with arrows, highlights), resize, crop, sharpen, watermark, apply edge effects, and more. Other features include image scanning, global hotkeys, automatic filename generation, external editor support, color picking tools, screen magnifier, screen crosshairs, and screen rulers.

Capture software features
1. Capture settings
The Capture tab of the Settings dialog box provides the option to launch FastStone when Windows starts, automatically minimizing the Windows system tray is the most convenient and least intrusive.
2. Hot keys
The default hotkeys are sensible and not difficult to remember. Most of the time I use PrintScreen or change PrintScreen. When it is the active application, F12 will display the options dialog. Here you can change the shortcut to use PrintScreen using any modifier key. If you want to capture FastStone's own dialog box, press the space bar to set "None" as the shortcut for capturing the active window, disabling PrintScreen. The Windows clipboard contents can then be pasted into any graphics application for editing.
3. File name
Filename patterns can be defined to be used when saving multiple captures to a file, or the FastStone Editor can be automatically displayed for each screen capture. Filename patterns can also be saved, handy when you wish to resume the last launched task. If you write program tutorials, you'll appreciate these sophisticated file naming options.
4. Automatically save
Select the default directory for saving files. Select a photo editor to open the command in an external application. Open the output folder or copy to the Windows clipboard (normally, screenshots will not overwrite the Windows clipboard).
5. FTP
Captured images can also be uploaded directly to the server. Enter your upload details and password to automate the process without opening an FTP program.
6. Rotation
From the Edit menu, rotate the capture left or right, flip it horizontally or vertically, or use the slider to rotate it to any angle.
7. Effect
From the Effects menu, apply Shadow, Blur, Reflection, Paint, Sketch, Sepia, Negative or Grayscale. Blur selected parts of a capture to hide private details.
8. Color picking machine
The screen color picker displays the color of the selected pixel in a window and more. Clicking on a pixel will open a dialog box where the color value can be copied to the clipboard as a red, green, blue value, or as a hexadecimal, or decimal value. Or it can be set to copy any of the three values immediately without displaying a dialog.
9. Screen magnifier
Screen Magnifier can be used to zoom in to see details. Precise positioning is possible when capturing a rectangular or hand-drawn area of the screen. The magnifying glass's zoom factor, shape, size and negative mode can be changed in the settings dialog.
