Software features
Lossless compression of PNG images
gluttonyPNG can compress PNG images losslessly
Save compression progress
gluttonyPNG can save the compression progress. When you close the software and open it again, you can load the last progress and continue compression.
This is very useful for processing extremely large batches of images. Compression tasks of hundreds of GB may not have time to be processed at once. If you save the progress, you can shut down and continue compression when you have time. Even if the pictures are placed on a mobile hard drive, you can load the progress file on another computer to continue the compression task. After half of the compression is done at the company, you can continue when you get home.
Quickly add large amounts of files
Efficient subdirectory scanning performance enables the task of quickly adding a large number of files.
Many similar software will take a lot of time to scan subdirectories when adding too many files at once. For example, if you add 140,000/209GB pictures to PngGauntlet, it will take more than ten minutes before compressing the optical scan files. For others, it will take a lot of time to scan subdirectories. Software such as FileOptimizer will even become unresponsive or even close automatically because the list cannot load so many entries, while gluttonyPNG can be added in one minute.
Adjustable multi-thread concurrency
gluttonyPNG can set the number of pictures to be processed concurrently, up to 32 threads (default 3 threads), compress 32 pictures at the same time, and can be dynamically adjusted during compression.
This can not only squeeze out the performance of multiple computers according to the situation, but also reduce threads to reduce resource occupancy and better compress in the background when the computer needs to be used for other work.
(The higher the number of concurrent threads, the better. Please choose according to the actual situation)
Detailed compression status information
gluttonyPNG can not only display the compression progress percentage, but also display the compression speed (M/s), estimated remaining time, current number of threads, and real-time volume reduction ratio in real time. Just like a download tool, it can easily understand the progress of the compression task.
