Features of Pro Engineer software
1. Feature-based (FEAture-Based)
Pro/ENGINEER is a feature-based (Feature-Based) solid model modeling tool that builds models by building blocks individually at a time. Designers build a separate feature on the model for each machining process. Features are the smallest building blocks. If you build a model with simple features, you will be more flexible when modifying the model.
2. Associative
Proe/ENGINEER can be used to verify the model by creating parts, assemblies, drawings, etc. Since each functional module is interrelated, if a certain part in the assembly is changed, the system will automatically reflect the change in other parts and drawings in the assembly.
3. Parametric
Pro/ENGINEER is a parametric system, that is, there are interrelationships between features, so that modification of one feature will affect changes in other features at the same time to meet the designer's requirements. If a feature refers to other features, a parent/child relationship is created between the features.
4. Construct surface
There are three main ways to generate complex surfaces: 1) Generate a three-dimensional curve from an external point set, and then use the surface function under Pro/E to generate the surface. 2) Directly input the surface generated by Pro/desinger (modeling design). 3) Use the import function to import surfaces generated by other software or three-dimensional measuring instruments in IGES, SET, VDA, Neutral and other formats.
5. Build entities in assembly drawings
According to the built solid model, in the assembly (component), use its features (plane, surface or axis) as the benchmark to directly create a new solid model (Create). The model established in this way is easy to assemble, and the assembly is completed in the system's default state. As shown in Figure 2, the inner pot of the rice cooker is designed based on the axis of the outer pot body in the assembly drawing.

How to use Pro Engineer
How to draw a cylinder using PROE?
1. Open PROE, click New - Parts, leave the name as default, and click OK.
2. As shown in the picture, click the stretch tool.
3. As shown in the picture, click Place - Define.
4. Click to select the TOP plane, and click Sketch to start drawing.
5. As shown in the picture, after entering sketch, click the circle tool and draw a circle on the sketch.
6. As shown in the picture, click the check mark to complete the sketch.
7. As shown in the picture, you can enter the length you want to stretch in the stretch length, and then click the check mark to complete the drawing of the cylinder.
Pro Engineer FAQ
1.What does non-default mean in the official version of Pro Engineer?
The so-called default means to use the system's default configuration, and non-default means not to use the system's default configuration and select the configuration you need in the dialog box. To give a simple example: If the default unit for creating parts is set to mmns in the config under your proe starting position, when you want to create a new part, uncheck the default option, then you can choose inbs to create imperial units Component.
2. How to create a three-dimensional curve of a control in the official version of Pro Engineer?
You can create a three-dimensional curve by projecting it; or you can use the datum point tool to create points and then generate the curve; or you can use equations to create a curve in space.
3.What are the differences between the scan, mix, scan mix, and variable scan commands in the official version of Pro Engineer?
Scan: There can only be one trajectory line and one profile, and the profile does not change during the scanning process, and the profile is perpendicular to the trajectory line.
Blend: Blend multiple profiles to generate geometry. The generated geometry changes according to the shape of the section, and each section must have the same blending point (no need to directly draw the trajectory line, the relative position of the section is determined by section depth and angle rotation)
Sweep blending: Use multiple profiles and a trajectory line to generate geometry. The resulting geometry will change according to the trend of the trajectory line and the profile.
Variable sweep: Geometry is generated from one section and more than one trajectory line. The section can change. Equations can be specified to make it undergo regular mathematical changes. The vertical direction of the section can be specified.
