EarthSunX software features
The mouse pointer will automatically hide itself when it is no longer over EarthSunX; when the mouse is briefly placed on the thin edge of the screen (which you can speed up by clicking on it), or when a special hotkey is pressed ( By default WIN+K), EarthSunX will unhide. Double clicking also hides the EarthSunX window (in case you don't want to move the mouse from that location because you want to go to some window under EarthSunX).
EarthSunX is completely self-contained, no special frameworks need to be installed, and no connection to the Internet is required, everything is based on your computer! (But some "local settings" must be set correctly, such as time zone and time zone - if the time zone is not set correctly, the picture will be incorrect - you can also see when you have a problem like this because the name of the time zone may be wrong on the line corresponding to local time).
EarthSunX will use the time zone defined by Windows itself (which may be different in different versions of Windows and not necessarily accurate), e.g. only Windows versions after 2000 will know that Nepal/Kathmandu is in a time zone that is within 45 minutes of a multiple of GMT (but most The Windows version will recognize most with a 30 minute offset).
EarthSunX works with Windows 95, NT4, 98, 98SE, ME, but for best results it is recommended to use Windows 2000 or Windows XP (with the latest service pack) and a 15bpp, 16bpp, 24bpp or higher screen! EarthSunX Now Also works on Vista and Windows 7, as well as 32-bit and 64-bit Windows.
EarthSunX Instructions for Use
EarthSunX has many settings that can be changed, in the current version most settings can be changed from the EarthSunX menu, you can activate these settings by right-clicking on the EarthSunX main window or the small EarthSunX tray icon.
From the main menu you can:
- Activate/deactivate some elements above the Earth map;
- Choose from four "modes";
- Enable/disable hour shadow on desired time zone;
-Save current configuration or reset it to default configuration.
From the settings dialog you can:
-Set the above items;
-Hide EarthSunX tray icon;
-Edit the list and order of cities to be displayed;
-Adjust many other smaller settings. . .
Even though the map is calculated into a background thread (no more than once in about 2 minutes, depending on the screen resolution when the shadow moves by more than one pixel), if you have a very slow computer you may need to run shadows on the "hourly Check the speed with "off" and one of the first two shadow modes as this could be more than ten times faster!!! (You can also enable less frequent recalculation overall or only when on battery ).
On the local timeline (between the city line and the mini clock line) you can see a lot of information, including:
-Local time zone and display name (cyan);
- Local dates (all yellow) and:
--Number of days from the beginning of the year (dy)
--The number of weeks from the beginning of the year (wy)
--The number of weeks starting from the beginning of the month (wm)
-Local time (black on light green background).
EarthSunX requires that the time and time zone on your computer are set correctly!!!
You can set the time and time zone in Control Panel -> Date/Time.
You can also use more advanced tools to automatically synchronize time over the Internet - such as About Time or NTP.
