SpeedFan features:
It features the ability to change fan speed based on system temperature. It also has features such as reading hard drive temperature and SMART information, changing FSB speed (soft overclocking/soft underclocking), and reporting the temperature and voltage of some nVidia graphics cards. Each update of the software adds/improves support for hardware including larger items such as CPUs and motherboards.
SpeedFan software features
Detection of CPU, motherboard temperature, power supply voltage, and fan speed
SpeedFan is a software designed for exactly the same purpose as Motherboard Monitor, but since Motherboard Monitor has stopped development, we still need to introduce SpeedFan when introducing the motherboard detection software, because Motherboard Monitor may not support your new motherboard in the future.
SpeedFan installation steps:
1. Download the SpeedFan Chinese version installation package from this site
2. Run the installation wizard, click Next, select the installation path, and click install
3. Wait for the installation to complete, click close, and run the software.
How does speedfan change language?
1. Open the speedfan software, click configure, enter settings, click "option" and select "chinese" in language, click ok below.
How to automatically adjust CPU fan speed:
First, let’s briefly talk about the fan speed adjustment function of the motherboard and the fan interface on the motherboard. The fan speed adjustment function of the motherboard is divided into two types: PWM mode and DC mode. Different brands and different models of motherboards use different modes, or they may support both modes. You have to go to the motherboard bios to see which mode is supported.
The so-called PWM mode means that the speed adjustment of the fan needs to be realized through a speed adjustment signal line. This kind of fan is a fan with a 4pin interface (the 4pin interface and the D-type port from the power supply are not the same thing). Generally speaking, 4-pin fans are difficult to buy on the market, and they are often only matched with original radiators. The most common one we have is the 3pin fan, which is plugged into the 3pin output port of the motherboard. Only motherboards that support DC speed adjustment mode can adjust the speed of the 3pin fan. However, most motherboards use PWM mode to adjust the speed of the CPU fan. The prerequisite for using SPEEDFAN to automatically adjust the CPU fan speed is that the motherboard supports either of the above two modes.
Although most motherboards have an automatic adjustment function for the CPU fan, the speed adjustment function of the motherboard is often unsatisfactory. For example, the noise is still very loud, or you want to be able to turn on the fan when playing games and turn off the fan when not playing games, etc. . At this time, you can use the software SPEEDFAN to control the CPU fan more personalizedly. As for whether I need to turn on the automatic fan control function in the motherboard bios when using SPEEDFAN to control the CPU fan, I'm not sure. Anyway, I turned it off.
The SPEEDFAN software I use is the English version 4.38. The current new version is version 4.40, but version 4.40 has some minor problems on my computer and is not as perfect as version 4.38, so I will use version 4.38 as an example. SPEENFAN is a very unique software. The functions it implements are very comprehensive, but the settings are too detailed (some are not user-friendly), so many friends think that this software has no effect. In fact, the reason is that it is not set up properly. Friends who have difficulty with English can also download the Chinese version. Starting from version 4.38, SPEEDFAN begins to support win7 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
Run speedfan, and after a while of testing, the interface appears.
SpeedFan FAQ:
1. How does SpeedFan distinguish the fan power supply in the software?
Usually Fan1/Speed01 is for the CPU fan socket (CPU_FAN), Fan2/Speed02 is for the system fan socket (SYS_FAN), and Fan3/Speed03 is for the power fan socket (PWR_FAN).
