XMind Getting Started Tutorial
1. Open XMind. The first thing you see is the new template interface. Here you can choose to start with a certain template or a blank picture of a certain style. My personal suggestion is that novices should start by using a blank template, so as not to neglect the role of the mind map itself.
2. XMind is composed of central theme, branch theme, sub-theme, free theme, border, contact line and other modules. Select the appropriate map structure in the new interface and click New to enter the canvas interface for map drawing. The advantage of a blank image is that there is only one default central theme after entering. Double-click the central theme to enter the editing state, then enter the real central theme and click the Enter key to complete the editing of the theme.
3. Click the Tab/Enter key to create the first branch topic, double-click to modify the content. After completing editing, click the Enter key to create a second branch topic of the same level, and modify the content in the same way.
4. Select any branch topic and click the Tab key to create a deeper topic to refine this branch topic, that is, a subtopic. After a few simple steps, you will have a simple draft mind map of the account plan.
Note: Enter and Tab keys. These are 2 very important shortcut keys in XMind. Generally, the Enter key is used to create sibling topics of the selected topic, and the Tab key is used to create subtopics of the selected topic.
5. After completing the rough framework, adjust the structure, lines, style, etc. of the picture according to your personal habits to make the picture more comfortable to look at. XMind provides users with the "Style" option. Select the "Window" > "Style" command to open the style window for selection and application. Style is a set of attributes that include various elements such as mind maps, themes, lines, etc.
6. Then, we started to adjust the map settings through the properties window and other tools, and the requirements were met. Properties also have a separate properties window (Window --- Properties). Generally, this window will open automatically after XMind is opened. When you select different elements in the diagram, the window will display the attributes that can be adjusted for that element. For example, clicking on the blank space of the diagram displays the properties of the mind map itself.
