Introduction to editing panel

​ ​Double-click the program to enter the main interface. You can enter the editing interface in 3 ways:

​​ 1. After selecting the proportion, click "New Project" to create a new project;

​​ 2. Click "Open Project" to open the project file you saved previously;

3. Open the recently edited project in the "Project Library" and enter the project file name to search.

​ ​ 1. Media Library: You can find all media files here, including video clips, photos and music. There are also transitions, special effects, and more that you can use in your projects.

2. Preview window: The preview window displays the video in the timeline. The position where playback starts is shown in the time box in the lower right corner, and a new time can be entered to jump to a specific point in the video. Also visible is a screenshot button, which saves a still frame at full resolution and automatically adds it to the media library as an image.

3. Toolbar: The toolbar allows you to quickly use various editing operations. You can zoom in and out of the project view on the timeline, while accessing tools like Split and Speed.

4. Timeline: The timeline is where media clips are assembled into video projects.

Register/login to Wanxing Miaoying account

After installing the program, choose to open or create a new project.

​​​Click the avatar icon in the upper right corner of the interface, then use your mobile phone number to register an account and set a password. You can use your account to use products, download special effects and purchase memberships.

Note: If you do not register a Wondershare Meowying account, you will not be able to use the product normally.

Update Wanxing Miaoying

There are two ways to keep Wondershare Filmora up to date: automatically checking for updates and manually checking for updates. Follow these steps to automatically check for updates:

​​Select "Preferences" or "File" in the top menu.

​​ ​Change the update check to daily, weekly, monthly, or never depending on your preference.

If there is an update, it will pop up a real-time update window. Select "Update Now" to download the new version of Wondershare Filmora.

After downloading the update, click OK to close the program and install the new version. You can also click Cancel to install it next time.

If you do not want to be prompted for updates, please set "Check for Updates" to "Never". If you want to update, please select "Check for Updates" under "Help" to manually check whether a newer version of Wondershare Video Studio is available.

Tip: Please save your project manually before updating Wondershare Filmora to ensure that you do not lose your files.

Uninstall Wondershare Movie

Go to "Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall or change a program" (if you are on Windows 10, go to This PC > Computer > Uninstall or change a program), then right-click on Wondershare Filmora's icon and select " uninstall". When asked "Are you sure you want to completely delete Wondershare Video Studio and all its components? Please select "Yes".

                       Create, save, and open project documents

For every project you create, Wondershare Filmora will create a project file (.wfp). This file contains settings for every selection in the project, as well as operations, effects, music, etc. during editing.

Wondershare Project files do not store video, audio or image files, they only store references to these types of media files based on file name and location. If the source file is moved, renamed, or deleted, Wondershare Filmora will not be able to automatically find it the next time you open a project file that uses that media. For convenience, Wondershare Filmora provides the option to archive the source files together with the project.

Create new project

​ ​ Launch Wondershare Filmora, select the scale and select "New Project". You can customize your project's scale, resolution, and frame rate by selecting File > Project Preferences.

The default ratio is 16:9, but if you want to make videos for TikTok, Instagram or other social media, you can change it to 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 21:9.

Save project

Click "File > Save Project" or "Save Project As", or use the shortcut key Ctrl+S. Your project will be saved as a file with a .wfp extension. These files can only be recognized by Wondershare Filmora.

Open project

​ 1. Open the project from the project library

When you launch Wondershare Filmora9, your most recent projects will be displayed in the project library. In the editing interface, you can also select "Open Recent" under "File" to find the project.

​​ 2. Open an existing project from the editing interface

​ ​ Launch Wondershare Filmora and select "Open Project" to reload the .wfp project file. If you are already in Wondershare Filmora, please select "Open Project" (Ctrl+O) to locate the .wfp file.

Move the project to another computer (archive project files)

​​ Click “File>Archive Project” or use the hotkey Shift+Ctrl+A. Project files and source files will be archived together in *.wfp format, allowing them to be easily moved to another computer or storage device. To open a .wfp file, just double-click it.

Relocation of lost media files

​​After changing the location of the source files, renaming, deleting or disconnecting the external drive where the source files are saved, Wondershare Filmora will be unable to find them. Instead, you will see a window with the location where the file is missing. Click the magnifying glass icon to relocate the missing files and press OK to reopen the original project. If the file has been permanently deleted, you can select another file to replace it.
