How to use:
The script may help to prepare vector layers for export from AI to PSD file. All solid filled objects remain vector in the PSD.
1. Download and unzip
2. Place Ai2Psd.jsx in the Illustrator script folder and restart Illustrator.
Mac: /Applications/Adobe Illustrator [vers.]/Presets.localized/zh_CN/Scripts
Windows (32-bit): C:Program Files (x86)AdobeAdobe Illustrator [vers.]Presetszh_CNScripts
Windows (64 bit): C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Illustrator [vers.] (64 Bit)Presetszh_CNScripts
Or a simpler way: directly drag Ai2Psd.jsx into your AI software window, and the script will run automatically.
3. Open the document to be converted in Adobe Illustrator
4. Select "File" → "Script" → "Ai2psd" and wait for the script to finish running. A message box will automatically pop up (mainly to tell you how much time it took, don't ignore it).
5. At this time, select "File" → "Export" → "Export As", and finally save it as PSD.
Things to note:
If you have a large group of small objects, such as hairbrushes, fur, or outline text, it's a good idea to merge these elements together before the script executes.
If you want to save a vector stroke in PSD, you have to select the object and expand the stroke into a path.
NOTE: Rectangles with gradient fills, patterns, various strokes, cannot be preserved as vectors after exporting, but will be automatically grouped into separate raster layers in PSD.
Don’t try particularly complex AI files, as the waiting time will make you uncomfortable.
