【Software Features】
1. 3D CAD import
This version of the software supports the import of Solid Edge ST9, Creo Parametric version 4.0, Inventor 2017, SolidWorks 2017 and Unigraphics NX 11 files.
2. NESTING new batch processing mode
Radan 2018 R1 now offers a new nesting approach focused on optimizing the utilization of a batch of nests (multi-nests). The new option is currently only available for profiling machines and can be found in the Multi-Part Puzzle dialog.
3. RADBEND merges coordination edges
Automatic fingertip selection has been changed to combine co-aligned edges into a combined edge, filtering out small indentations and crossing vertical curved areas. This will reduce the number of unnecessary alternative positions and potentially create new positions that meet the minimum length requirements.
4. The largest gap between merged surfaces
The options menu now has a setting to control the maximum allowed gap for combined edges. This defaults to the smallest flat top positioning surface on the fingertip minus the minimum overlap.
Any previous gaps will result in separate positioning surfaces and possibly suboptimal fingertip positioning (left). Radbend 2018 now applies the default gap (30mm) and combines the edges into a positioning surface so that the fingertip is in the middle.
5. Minimize Z-motion
When using the Minimize Z Movement option, fingertip selection will select the same fingertip Z position whenever possible. This will reduce the amount of Z-axis movement between bends. This can enhance safety and help avoid slow axis motion on some machines.
6. Chamfer hole and expansion
When you unfold a 3D sheet metal part, any chamfered or formed holes in the slab will be represented by two outlines. Smaller outlines (holes) will be output in the pen specified for internal outlines, while larger outlines will be output in the pen specified for form.
Note that all holes on non-flat paper will still be represented by a single outline.
7. CSV import
Import 3D CAD files using drag and drop or via the import button
In some cases, the 3D source file does not contain separate files for subassemblies. When this is detected, we create SAT files for each part and assign them to subparts. This means you can continue working on your files with ease.
8. Analyze scraps
The Rectangular Cutout option cuts unused areas of the paper into rectangular remnants, as specified by Ideal Width, Ideal Height, and Minimum Size.
Strict cuts leave unused areas of the sheet as individual remnants.
9. Hole punching Offcut control
For punch presses, it is now possible to automatically order parts and hems separately in order mode, even when using the same tool, by specifying separate window punch commands in the automatic order style. The following options are now available for the window Punch command:
"Offcuts" means the function of the cutting tool
"No cut" refers to all tool features except the cut opening
10. General CAM
When changing machines, the strategy (if applicable) and standard tool load files are updated to the current values for the selected machine (or to the default values specified by the MDB/System Data if not already set for the selected machine). The tools (and nested comments) for the selected machine are also displayed.
If the selected machine supports the policy, you can also use the "Change Policy..." button to change the currently selected policy. If the standard tool load file has not been set for this machine, it will be updated to the default specified by its MDB/system data; if it is already set, but it is different from the default specified by its MDB/system data, then the software will ask if Continue to use the value already set.
11.RADM-AX RADTUBE
Save a single file from a component
New options are available when saving files from assemblies.
Check for detected cuts
During the automatic cutting process, you can use the new window to exclude cuts, assign properties and change the technology to any cut group before creating the tool.
12. RADPRO assembly support
Radpro now supports components and displays them in the parts list.
Components can be created manually via:
Add a subassembly to a part - use the "+" button in the Components tab
【How to use】
1 Import remaining materials
Open the graphic in Radan and edit the layers:
Put the graphics into the "/layout/sheet" layer!
2 layout
After saving the file, you can then switch to layout:
Retrieve parts and lay out:
During the whole process, layer switching is particularly important, and it must be placed on the designated layer!
