How to burn MKV format disc with cdburnerxp?
cdburnerxp cannot directly burn MKV to DVD video disc, you must first convert MKV to VOB. Video conversion software can convert MKV to VOB and automatically generate the Video_TS folder.
CDBurnerXP burns ISO image to disc
ISO image files contain complete file structures. The structure can be extracted or burned directly to disc. See the Creating ISO Images section of the help file for more information on how to create them.
To burn an ISO image, select the appropriate option at startup:
In the next dialog box, please select the file using the Open button.
Once you have selected a valid ISO image, click the "Burn ISO Image" button.
Note: Normally, you can specify finalize disc and disc write-once for ISO images.
Convert image to ISO
Other image formats also exist and are widely used. You can use the button in the lower left of the window shown above to convert .bin or .nrg files to ISO so you can burn them with CDBurnerXP. This dialog box can also be accessed from File → Convert ISO Image. A file selection dialog will appear, allowing you to locate and select the file you want to convert. The following window will then appear, where you can select the location where the ISO image will be saved. Click the "Convert to ISO" button to start the process.
In older versions of CDBurnerXP, you could open this dialog box by selecting File → Write to Disc from ISO File in the Data CD extent.
Q&A:
Q: Why can’t the burned DVD be played in a DVD player? A: You need to burn video-DVD using UDF file format, which is only supported by CDBurnerXP 4.0 and later ("File" → "DVD Video Layout"). Q: Do I need administrator rights to use CDBurnerXP? Answer: No need to. During installation you will be given the option to allow non-admin users to burn CDs. Q: I erased the disc but the content is still there? A: Windows sometimes aggressively caches data on a disc, so Windows Explorer shows files that no longer exist. Please try ejecting and inserting the disc, or if that doesn't work, put the disc into another device. Q: My disc appears empty after burning! A: This complements the question above :) Q: Can I burn files larger than 4GB? Answer: Yes, as long as you use the UDF cultural construction system. Q: Can I use a CD-burner to burn DVDs? Answer: No. You need a DVD-recorder. Q: Why don't multibyte characters display correctly on burned CDs? A: Only supported by CDBurnerXP 4.0 and higher. Q: How do I create an ISO file? A: Please read "How to create an ISO image". Question: Can’t download! what to do? A: If you use a download manager, try deactivating it. If it doesn't work, download (for example) FDM and try again. You can also try using the mirrors on our downloads page (mirrors may be slightly delayed when new versions are released). Q: How do I burn multiple copies of a CD? Answer: Neither is possible. There is no dedicated integrated feature for this, but you can click the "Burn Disc" button to create a new copy of the CD with the same content after completing the burning process.
